kate middleton barely acknowledged meghan markle at commonwealth day biography claims

The Duchess of Cambridge snubbed Meghan Markle during the Sussex’s final royal engagement on Commonwealth Day, while one stand-offish episode at a charity polo match was a snapshot of the pair’s ‘cordial but distant rapport,’ the authors of an explosive new book has claimed.

Finding Freedom is a biography written by journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, who are fans of the couple and have set out to ‘correct the record’ and shift the spotlight on to their charitable ventures.

The authors claim the Duchess of Sussex and Kate stood next to each other but ‘barely exchanged a word’ at a charity polo match in July 2019, while Meghan tried to make eye contact with Kate at the Commonwealth service at Westminster Abbey in March, but the duchess ‘barely acknowledged her.’

The Sussexes say they did not contribute to the book, but Scobie and Durand’s account is based on extensive insight from friends of the couple.

KING POWER ROYAL CHARITY POLO DAY – 10 JULY 2019

Relations were said to be fraught between the princes’ wives from the inception of Meghan’s entry into the monarchy.

But one stand-offish episode at a charity polo match was a snapshot of Meghan and Kate’s ‘cordial but distant rapport,’ the book claimed.

The Duchesses put in a surprise appearance to watch Prince William and Prince Harry go head-to-head in the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day, held in honour of late Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha on July 10.

It marked the first time the Sussexes and the Cambridges had been seen together as families since Archie’s birth.

It was also a rare joint appearance for Meghan and Kate, who are typically only seen together at official engagements attended by the entire royal family, such as Trooping the Colour.

But their relationship had reportedly struggled to move past the distant politeness of when they first met, according to the new explosive biography.

‘While the doting mothers were photographed next to each other with their children, the two appeared to barely exchange a word,’ the authors penned.

The book went on to claim that the signs of the tense relationship between the woman derived from the main issue at play – the conflict between Prince Harry and the institution.

They wrote: ‘Harry likened his meetings throughout the week to standing in front of a firing squad. “There was a lot of finger pointing in both directions with things leaking,” an aide said. “It was all very unhealthy.”

COMMONWEALTH DAY SERVICE AT WESTMINSTER ABBEY – 9 MARCH 2020

The book claims the couples hardly spoke at the Commonwealth service at Westminster Abbey despite not having seen each other since January – and that the Duchess of Cambridge snubbed Meghan during the Sussex’s final royal engagement.

Omid Scobie, who wrote the book, Finding Freedom, told The Times during the Commonwealth Day engagement: ‘Meghan tried to make eye contact with Kate, the duchess barely acknowledged her.

‘To purposefully snub your sister-in-law . . . I don’t think it left a great taste in the couple’s mouths.’

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex was not part of the Queen’s procession through Westminster Abbey at the start of the Commonwealth Service as they made their final official appearance as senior royals on 9 March 2020.

Unlike the previous year, Harry and Meghan were conducted to their seats at the church in London, rather than waiting for the Queen’s arrival and walking through with the monarch and key royals as they did in March 2019.

The book claims the decision to remove them from the line up had been made ‘without their consultation’ – adding that they were informed long after the 2,000 orders of service had been printed for guests – with their names notably absent.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex walked in ahead of Prince William and Kate Middleton – which marked the first public meeting of the two brothers and their wives since Megxit was announced two months prior – before Prince Charles and Camilla also arrived and the Queen then made an entrance to trumpet fanfare and cheers from crowds outside.

‘It felt intentional. “Harry was more than disappointed,” a friend said, speaking in the book. “He spoke up, but the damage had already been done.”

While the Cambridges took their seats at the same time as the Sussexes and the Earl and Countess of Wessex in a bid to ‘smooth things over’, the authors claim that the looks given indicated that the Cambridges were ‘unhappy’ with that decision.

They wrote: ‘While Harry and Meghan both greeted William and Kate with smiles, the Cambridges showed little response.

‘”Harry,” William nodded, ignoring Meghan. For the minutes before the Queen’s arrival, William and Kate sat with their backs to the couple, only turning around to chat with Prince Edward and Sophie, next to the Sussexes.’

They added that while Meghan ‘tried to make eye contact’ with Kate, the mother-of-three ‘barely acknowledged her.’

coronavirus bunnings karen puts spell on daniel andrews

A coronavirus denier and self-described ‘psychic’ who slammed Daniel Andrews for his lockdown measures has cast a spell to remove him as Victorian premier.

Lizzy Rose, dubbed ‘Bunnings Karen’, made headlines last month when she filmed herself clashing with staff at the hardware giant over mandatory face masks.

Ms Rose, who uses her social media platform to spread dangerous conspiracy theories, shared a video of her performing a ‘vaccination burn’ to cast out the Victorian government, as well as mandatory jabs and face masks.

‘Cast you and your agenda out. We say no to mandatory vaccinations against our will,’ she said in the footage posted on Sunday.

‘We burn away your evil agenda. We, the awakened people, say no to mandatory vaccinations. We cast you out.’

Ms Rose, who wore a black dress during the bizarre performance, was seen bent over a large black cauldron with a lit match held over a needle.

She chanted: ‘We cast out your evil agenda of cruelty, deception and control.

‘You are to leave government, you are to walk away from your power and your position for we cast you out.

‘Hail and farewell Daniel Andrews and blessed be.’

The anti-masker dramatically threw the match and needle into the cauldron and raised her arms into the air.

She then called for rain and ‘the heavens to open and bear down on us’.

‘Cleanse this government and all its ill will. Banish from state, territory, capital and the hill. Guardians of day and guardians of night,’ Ms Rose continued.

‘Great Mother Earth, in this cauldron of bounty, punish them, make them accountable by law, by honour. Make them hear and make them see and free our people.’

Ms Rose concluded by asking for restrictions, including mandatory masks, to be lifted and for the economy to be reopened.

The self-proclaimed ‘witch’ uses her social media channels to encourage Victorians to stop wearing face masks. She has also filmed herself burning disposable face masks.

From 11.59pm on August 2, all Victorians have been required to wear a face covering when leaving their homes. Those who fail to follow the rule without a medical exemption can be fined $200.

Despite stage four lockdown in Melbourne, Ms Rose has also bragged about breaking the restrictions to go for two-hour walks outside her 5km radius.

Ms Rose famously recorded herself inside the Bunnings store in Maribyrnong, in Melbourne’s west, where she planned to buy plant pots and items for her ‘Viking fire pit’.

Armed with a medical certificate exempting her from wearing the mandatory masks, she fronted confused staff members.

‘I went shopping in my local Bunnings where I’ve spent thousands of dollars over nearly 18 years and was rudely illegally denied customer service due to not wearing a facial mask, despite the fact that I produced a legal medical certificate of exemption,’ she posted after the stunt.

‘Management called the police, stating to police that my exemption was ‘bogus’ which is completely untrue.

‘This is absolutely disgusting treatment of a customer and a direct contradiction to Mr Daniel Andrews, the premier of Victoria’s, instructions stating that no person with a medical exemption is to be refused service, goods or products.’

The video showed Ms Rose referring to masked customers as ‘zombies’ as she walked without a mask through the aisles.

‘People are so very silly,’ she said. ‘And they’re so silly and it’s so very sad that they’re not evolved enough to see.’

Ms Rose then argued with a checkout operator before turning the video off.

bizarre optical illusion makes people look like shadows on sand

Amazing footage captured by a drone shows beach volleyball players looking like shadows in the sand thanks to an optical illusion.

Professional photographer Kyle Huber, 32, captured the stunning footage at the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The video shows 12 people playing volleyball on the sand, but with the top-down perspective made them look like long shadows.

As the drove hovered above, the optical illusion made their real bodies hard to spot as they hit the ball across the net.

In the late afternoon sun the shadows appear to be the ones playing as they competitively pass the ball around.

The amazing video looks like something from a computer game as the players run around on the sand.

The multi-million dollar win comes after a man from Liverpool in Sydney’s south-west took home $20million in the Powerball draw on July 30.

The lucky winner said he would buy his parents a house and travel overseas when the coronavirus crisis settles.

‘I can’t travel at the moment, but as soon as I can, I will be straight on a plane to Las Vegas!’ he said.

‘There will be a few little splurges when I first get the money. I want to buy a ski boat and there will be a new car.

‘I have to spoil myself a little.’

The man said he was in ‘total shock’ after seeing the $20million in his online account.

‘My heart was racing. I was shaking!’ he said.

‘This changes everything for me and for my whole family!’

The Oz Lotto jackpot has jumped from $5million to $10million after it failed to go off on Tuesday.

A Brisbane couple woke up almost $6million richer after holding one of two division one winning entries in the Oz Lotto draw on July 28.
