Elisa Donovan portrayed mean girl Amber in the classic comedy Clueless, which was released back in 1995.

And the actress, now 49, made a rare appearance on Australian TV on Monday, speaking to The Morning Show about her memories of the iconic film.

The star looked as youthful as ever as she shared behind-the-scenes secrets about the movie, which also starred Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd and Stacey Dash.

When asked if anybody in particular had inspired her portrayal of spoiled rich girl Amber, Elisa said: ‘I have to admit I pretty much based that character on some girls I knew from high school, who weren’t very nice to me!

‘As soon as I read [the script] I was like, “I know exactly who this person is.'”

Elisa then recalled the famous debate scene between Amber and Alicia Silverstone’s character, Cher, in which Amber dropped the now-famous ‘Whatever!’ catchphrase.

‘I think that was the first scene that we shot in the entire film. And it was certainly my first scene and it was the first day,’ she said.

Elisa added that Alicia had unintentionally mispronounced the word ‘Haitians’, but the mistake was kept in the film because the director, Amy Heckerling, loved it.

‘That was not scripted; that was just something that she did,’ Elisa said. ‘And I remember looking at her in character like “of course” and I expected Amy to cut.

‘Then Amy was like back there, “This is amazing, we’re going to leave it in.” That is definitely what I remember a lot.’

Elisa said she knew at the time they were all working on a successful project, and remembers telling leading lady Alicia she was going to be a big star.

She then spoke about her co-star Brittany Murphy’s death in 2009.

'It's terribly sad. She was just one of these very magical kind of people': Elisa also spoke about her co-star Brittany Murphy's (centre) death in 2009. Pictured with Alicia and Stacey Dash

‘She had such an energy about her that was really just young and creative. Kind of always like a humming bird is how I looked at her. She just was precious. It was terribly sad.’

At the height of her fame in the ’90s, Elisa also starred as Morgan Cavanaugh in Sabrina: The Teenage Witch, and as Ginger LaMonica in Beverly Hills, 90210.

‘It is about how losing him to cancer affected my life and career, and how I kind of went through the grief and recovered,’ she said.

A film based on the book is also in development.

And after having already read a script for the first episode of season three, she teased that it’s ‘really, really good’.

She went on: ‘I’m desperate to see more. I’m so desperate, especially because I feel like the last season left us all in such interesting positions. But where the characters could go now is kind of limitless.’

It was revealed back in February that Sex Education has been renewed for a third season.

Fans had been on the edge of their seat since the series two ended with a cliffhanger on the future of central couple Otis (Asa Butterfield) and Maeve’s (Emma Mackey) relationship.

The show’s first season revolved largely around Otis falling for bad-girl Maeve and his effort to lose his virginity.

The awkward high school student made a name for himself offering sex advice to students despite not actually engaging in the act himself, since his mother (Gillian Anderson) is a well-known sex therapist.

The series’ writer and creator Laurie Nunn has been anticipating and preparing for a next season, since the second season dropped in January 2020.

Before the series was picked up for the third season, she told LADbible in January: ‘I’ve started writing series three, but that’s just a very normal part of the process because we work on such tight schedule, and season three hasn’t been greenlit yet or officially commissioned.’

larry kings estranged wife shawn seeking 33100 per month in temporary spousal support

The estranged wife of talk show host Larry King has filed court documents seeking at least $33,100 per month in temporary spousal support.

Shawn King, 60, claimed in court documents that she has no form of income and wants Larry, 86, to pay her retroactively from August 2019 when he filed for divorce, according to an article Monday by TMZ.

The court documents claimed that Shawn gave up her lucrative TV hosting and modeling jobs as she became a homemaker to raise their children and was financially dependent on the former CNN host during their 22-year marriage.

Shawn in her court filing claimed that Larry earns more than the $1.9 million per year from infomercials that he disclosed in court documents and noted, for example, his recent $5 million podcast deal to host The Millionth Question.

She also disclosed that the former couple made more than $4 million from the sale of their former family home in Beverly Hills.

The home was sold in January for $15.5 million after they bought the five-bedroom, Tuscan-style house in 2007.

Larry filed for divorce in August 2019, just five months after suffering a stroke in March, followed by heart surgery in April.

The TV personality opened up last month after two of his adult children died weeks apart. His son Andy died on July 28 from a heart attack at age 65 and his daughter Chaia, 52, died in August following a battle with lung cancer.
