The best in television is being honored Sunday in Los Angeles at the annual Emmy Awards.

But this year, it’s a socially-distanced and virtual ceremony instead of the usual red carpet fanfare and star-studded gathering.

And as she prepared to watch the show on TV at her home, Friends star Courteney Cox modeled two different outfits on her Instagram Story as pal Tan France from Netflix‘s Queer Eye invited her followers to choose between them.

Home viewing: Friends star Courteney Cox modeled two different outfits on her Instagram Story Sunday as she tried to decide what to wear to watch the annual Emmy Awards on TV

For her first ensemble option, Courteney, 56, wore a beige long-sleeve top with collar and unfastened buttons at the top.

She paired it with blue jeans and taupe heels.

The second option the actress presented to fans was a pink crew neck sweater worn with indigo skinny jeans and black heeled ankle boots.

She modeled both outfits in what appeared to be an expansive bathroom with wood floors, a white shaggy run, long vanity with mirrors and a floor-to-ceiling glass shower.

This year’s Emmys honoring the best in television promise to be radically different as producers scrambled to create Hollywood’s first major pandemic-era awards show.

The coronavirus has turned Tinseltown upside down, bringing productions to a halt even as stay-at-home orders around the world send binge-watching through the roof.

Late night funnyman Jimmy Kimmel hosts the 72nd Emmys live on Sunday from an empty theater in Los Angeles with winners beaming in from the safety of their homes due to Covid-19.

Adding to the unpredictability on a night of firsts, 130-odd nominees who were sent cameras to hook up in their own living rooms have been encouraged to get creative with their speeches.

There will be no red carpet and no star-studded audience. A-listers are invited to trade gowns and tuxedos for pajamas.

‘Ratings have been flagging for award shows for years… This is, if nothing else, an opportunity to mix things up, to do an award ceremony in a way unlike any other that’s been done,’ said IndieWire TV awards editor Libby Hill.

‘Even if Sunday night is a complete disaster, it’s at least going to be an interesting disaster. And that’s really all you ask for in 2020.’

Capturing this year’s somewhat anarchic zeitgeist, Watchmen leads the charge with a whopping 26 nominations, primarily in the limited series categories.

The eerily prescient comic book adaptation that debuted last October confronts historic US racism, police violence and even mask-wearing. It also wowed critics and audiences alike.

Watchmen speaks so specifically in so many unprecedented ways to the moment in which we’re living right now,’ said Hill.

‘I think people will probably get pretty tired of hearing Watchmen’s name getting called… it’s as much of a lock as we have right now.’

With HBO’s record-breaking Emmys juggernaut Game of Thrones having finally mounted a dragon and soared off to Westeros, the awards in the drama series categories promise to be more fiercely contested this year.

‘It’s a relief for HBO that they have Succession hitting at the right time,’ said Deadline awards columnist Pete Hammond.

The critically adored show about a powerful family’s back-stabbing battle for control of a dynastic media empire won a writing Emmy in its first season, and has amassed 18 nominations this time.

But it is tied with Ozark, a dark money-laundering tale set in the American heartland from Netflix, which despite landing a record 160 nominations this year is still desperate to win its first major series Emmy.

Lurking in the background are British royals saga The Crown and Star Wars tale The Mandalorian, which boasts lavish Thrones-esque production values and has already scooped five Emmys in technical categories this week for newcomer Disney+.

Comedy this year appears to be a toss-up between previous serial winner The Marvelous Mrs Maisel- Amazon’s quirky tale of a 1950s housewife who becomes a standup comic – and Schitt’s Creek.

The latter, a Canadian comedy about a privileged family forced to live in a rundown motel, failed to earn a single nomination in its first four years, but became a sleeper hit after airing on Netflix and signed off with a heartwarming final season.

Aside from the awards themselves, the night will honor the career achievement of Tyler Perry.

The African-American entertainment mogul has championed greater diversity in Hollywood, and this year paid funeral costs for black victims of police violence including George Floyd.

Bella Hadid calls Manhattan home despite spending the majority of quarantine on her mother’s farm in Pennsylvania.

On Wednesday, the 24-year-old model was taking advantage of the bustling city nightlife as she stepped out to meet her designer pal, Alexander Wang, for dinner.

Hadid channeled her grungy side in an an oversized outfit and platform combat boots as she left her SoHo apartment.

For the dinner outing, Bella rocked a pair of black trousers with nylon strap detailing that hung low on her slim frame.

She flashed a hint of her model midriff in a bright red t-shirt that she layered under a fitted black cardigan.

Bundling up for the fall weather, she threw on an oversized denim jacket that was lined with a Southwestern print.

The international model completed the look with a pair of black platform Doc Martens and a small black purse that she carried in hand.

She kept her noticeably lighter hair clipped back in a stylish updo, throwing on some small framed sunglasses and a black face mask.

By her side was her trusty security guard who made sure Bella got from her condo to dinner seamlessly.

She rocked a pair of small hoop earrings and layered some delicate gold necklaces around her neck as she prepared to meet Wang for a bite to eat.

The dinner outing comes days after it was reported that Bella and sister Gigi unfollowed Kim Kardashian on social media, based on their opposing views on the Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict.

Coincidentally, Hadid’s dinner with Wang comes on Kim’s 40th birthday, after the designer made her a custom dress in celebration of her big day.

According to The Sun, an insider revealed details of the ensuing feud.

‘Bella and Gigi posted about Armenia last weekend, in a greater effort to raise awareness about the ongoing conflict with Azerbaijan. The girls got backlash online so they deleted those posts,’ the source shared.

Reportedly, Kim who is of Armenian descent on her late father’s side, reached out to the Hadids after seeing the posts but the sisters got upset.

‘Kim texted both of them, reaching out to try to inform them about the conflict because she has been raising awareness about Armenia’s cause, but Bella and Gigi did not take that well and got upset.’

Opposing sides: The Hadid sisters and Kardashian have found themselves on opposite sides of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, prompting Kim to reach out and the Hadid's to unfollow her on social media

The source continued, ‘Bella and Gigi unfollowed Kim shortly thereafter.’

Kim has been very vocal about taking Armenia’s side, even donating $1M to the cause, as the two countries fight over the Republic of Artsakh, also known as the Nagorno-Karabakh territory.

Currently the conflict has taken more than 1000 lives since it started on September 27th, despite trying to institute a second ceasefire.

Bindi Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell, are expecting their first child early next year.

And while the wildlife warriors haven’t revealed the name they have in mind for their daughter, fans of the couple are convinced they’ve worked it out.

After Bindi, 22, shared a bump update on Wednesday, one of her Instagram followers set off a flurry of speculation by sharing their theory about the baby’s name.

‘I’m so happy for you!’ the fan commented. ‘Can I suggest a name? Stevie.’

‘I was going to say Stephanie,’ another replied, while a third follower eagerly wrote: ‘That would be the perfect name.’

The parents-to-be may well have already chosen Stevie or Stephanie as a name, given that Bindi’s late father was Steve ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ Irwin.

However, Australian magazine New Idea did report recently that Bindi was considering ‘Stevie Sue’ for a girl.

Bindi and Chandler, 23, are continuing Steve’s legacy of wildlife conservation at Australia Zoo, on the Sunshine Coast.

So it makes sense that they would name their daughter after the famous grandfather she never got to meet.

Steve died in September 2006 at the age of 44 after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb while filming a wildlife documentary in Batt Reef, Queensland.

Bindi and Chandler tied the knot at Australia Zoo on March 25, and announced in August they were expecting their first child together.

She shared her pregnancy news via Instagram, posting a sweet photo of herself and her husband holding a tiny khaki uniform.

‘It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you. Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter,’ she told her followers.

‘Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes and prayers to our little sweetheart. Love and light.’

adele masks up and studies script in first bts look of her hosting debut on saturday night live

15-time Grammy winner Adele masked up and studied her script at Manhattan’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza in the first behind-the-scenes look of her hosting debut on this week’s Saturday Night Live.

‘Bloooooody hellllll I’m so excited about this! And also absolutely terrified! My first ever hosting gig and for SNL of all things!’ the elusive 32-year-old torch singer – who boasts 151M social media followers – wrote last Sunday.

‘I’ve always wanted to do it as a stand alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right. But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?’

It’s been nearly 12 years since Adele (last name Adkins) was originally musical guest on the NBC sketch show alongside host Josh Brolin.

The London-born belter then returned to SNL in 2015 to serve musical guest duties alongside host Matthew McConaughey.

Adele gushed: ‘It went on to break my career in America, so it feels full circle and I just couldn’t possibly say no!’

Saturday Night Live marks the BRIT School grad’s onscreen acting debut unless you count her portraying herself in a 2009 episode of ABC show Ugly Betty titled ‘In the Stars.’

Fans can expect at least one joke or sketch acknowledging Adele’s eye-popping 100lb weight loss since the summer of 2019.

And while fans will be sad if they don’t get to hear the Oscar-winning songwriter’s three-octave mezzo-soprano pipes, she is ‘beside herself’ that R&B songstress H.E.R. will perform her new single Damage.

‘I love her SO much,’ Adele said of the two-time Grammy winner (born Gabriella Wilson).

‘I can’t wait to melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs, then confuse myself while I laugh my arse off in between it all.’
