gloria estefan reveals she offered to carry the gay flag for daughter emily before she came out

Red Table Talk: The Estefans have recently been focused on coming out stories.

And a preview clip of the next episode of the new Facebook Watch show has revealed that the next story will be told by host Gloria Estefan’s daughter Emily.

‘We had no clue,’ says Gloria of her daughter’s sexuality in the clip.

‘You say, “How could we not have known?”‘ continued the Cuban-American songstress.

‘It’s not like we didn’t suspect at some moments.”

Gloria continued, ‘I remember being in my bedroom and telling you, “Mama, are you gay? Do you want to carry the gay flag, because if you want I will get on that parade float and I will carry that flag?”‘

We then see her 25-year-old daughter drying her eyes as she becomes emotional at the memory.

‘You said to me, “Mom, I’m not gay,”‘ Gloria concludes. ‘Because that wasn’t the word in your mind for who you were.’

Emily came out publicly in 2017 when she shared a photo with partner Gemeny Hernandez.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday’s episode of the talk show, Rosie O’Donnell opened up about coming out.

The comedian, 58, spoke about her 2002 shock announcement that she was gay during an interview for Red Table Talk: The Estefans.

‘When I came out on TV after 9/11, it was like a blip,’ admitted the former host of The View.

However she admitted being surprised that anyone would find the admission shocking.

‘I was surprised that people thought I was not gay, she told host Gloria Estefan, Emily Estefan and Gloria’s Daytime Emmy Award-winning Lili Estefan.

‘I went to a comedy club and I was doing stand-up and I’m like, “I’m gay. Listen, 9/11 happened, I’m gay. I’m telling you all, I’m gay. In case the buildings blow up again, I’m so, so gay,’ you know?”

O’Donnell came out in February 2002 as part of her act at the Ovarian Cancer Research benefit at Caroline’s Comedy Club in New York City.

The announcement came two months before the end of her talk show.

And recently, Rosie empathized with another talk show host, when she lent her support to Ellen DeGeneres.

O’Donnell revealed she has ‘compassion’ for DeGeneres, whose NBC chat show is currently mired in scandal amid claims the comedienne oversaw a ‘toxic work environment’.

‘You can’t fake your essence,’ O’Donnell said during an August appearance on Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best podcast. ‘That’s why I have compassion for Ellen, right?’

Still got it! 'I went to a comedy club and I was doing stand-up and I’m like, "I’m gay. Listen, 9/11 happened, I’m gay. I’m telling you all, I’m gay. In case the buildings blow up again, I’m so, so gay,’ you know?"

O’Donnell added: ‘I have compassion, even though, you know, I hear the stories and I understand. I think she has some social awkwardness.’

Like DeGeneres, O’Donnell is a successful comedienne and actress who made the transition to TV talk show host.

The Rosie O’Donnell Show ran for six seasons and won her five Daytime Emmys before she stepped back to spend more time with her children.

She returned briefly to the limelight in 2014 for a year-long stint as a co-host on daytime TV’s The View.

ulrika jonsson 53 shares naked bathroom selfie

Ulrika Jonsson shared a naked selfie from her bathroom on Instagram on Monday.

The post came hours after former TV presenter John Leslie, 55, was found not guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at a Christmas party.

53-year-old Ulrika wrote that she was ‘reclaiming her body’ but added: ‘reclaiming my mind is taking a bit more time,’ but didn’t reference Leslie.

Blue Peter presenter John, who also presented This Morning, was found not guilty by a jury over claims he grabbed a woman’s breasts at a Christmas party in central London on December 5, 2008.

Before the trial, Leslie had already been investigated an astonishing number of times over separate sexual assault allegations made to police since 2002, when he was falsely accused of raping Ulrika, who he dated for a few months.

Ulrika has never made any complaint to police.

John said his life changed completely in 2002 when he was wrongly identified on live television as the unnamed alleged rapist in his former girlfriend Ulrika’s autobiography.

Leslie was falsely accused of raping Ulrika by the TV presenter Matthew Wright. Wright later apologised, saying he had given his name in error.

Other women have publicly accused him of similar seedy behaviour, while he has been the subject of salacious revelations about his sex life (including his starring role in a threesome sex tape with Abi Titmuss) and his use of cocaine.

A string of former Blue Peter presenters rallied around Leslie at his trial, with Anthea Turner, Diane Louise Jordan and Yvette Fielding taking to the stand to call him a ‘gentleman’ and deny he was ever inappropriate towards women.

Leslie has never been found guilty of any offence, but his own barrister today claimed he had become a ‘notorious’ and a ‘nobody’ because of the repeated claims against him.

The former star, who once earned £350,000 a year, was last known to be living in an Edinburgh bungalow and doing DJ jobs to earn extra money.

Her posts come after it was claimed Ulrika has signed up to the next series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The television personality is the latest celebrity rumoured to be taking part in the Channel 4 military show, which sees Ant Middleton and his team training the stars as SAS recruits.

It’s also been claimed that Olympian James Cracknell and former X Factor star Jake Quickenden would also be forming part of the line-up.

A source told The Sun: ‘Ulrika is a huge signing for SAS and she’s ready to show the world just how tough she is.

‘Her four kids encouraged her to give the show a whirl. In their eyes it’s really cool. It is the toughest show on TV but everyone who signs up ends up taking so much away with them.

‘It’s really fulfilling so when Ulrika was asked she jumped at the chance. She is physically fit but has suffered back pain in the past because of a degenerative disc condition.’

Zara McDermott proclaimed ‘love always wins’ in an Instagram post shared after her cheating was laid bare on Monday night’s Made In Chelsea

The Love Island star, 23, broke down in hysterical tears during a face-off with her wounded ex Sam Thompson, 28, who branded her ‘seedy’ for her infidelity.

It was revealed last month that Zara had been embroiled in an extra-curricular romance during her time on The X Factor, and Sam finally confronted and ultimately dumped her – yet she continues to beg his forgiveness.

On Monday night’s show, Zara finally admitted to the widely-spread rumours as she broke down in tears while telling Sam’s best friend Jamie Laing about her indiscretion – leaving him outraged.

Sitting at a dinner, Zara said through tears: ‘I did something really bad around a year ago. I slept with someone!’ leading to a ruckus.

Later in the episode, she broke down while talking to Sam, who lashed out at her ‘seedy’ and ‘consistent s**gging’ with another man.

He even made the explosive reveal that during their August holiday in Marbella, she was still ‘liking’ the other man’s Instagram posts.

Zara and Sam parted ways in August, with MailOnline revealing Zara, 23, cheated on her beau, 28, in the early stages of their relationship.

Earlier this month, the reality star hared a video montage of her 16-month relationship with Sam in a last ditch attempt to win him back.

The video started with the caption: ‘To the love of my life, I want you to know how much I adore you. This video will show you why!’

Zara then went on to share different clips, many taken from their Instagram stories over the course of their relationship as well as holiday throwbacks.

The television personality added key points of their time together in the montage; including Sam’s 28th birthday celebrations, when she moved into his South West London home during lockdown and playing pranks on each other.

Zara accompanied the video with Nathan Skyes’ Over and Over Again, which has the lyrics: ‘Just put your heart in my hands/ Promise it won’t get broken/ We’ll never forget this moment/ Yeah, we’ll stay brand-new ’cause I’ll love you.’

‘I’ve always preferred the fit of triangle bikinis because you can choose how much support you need and I feel sexier in them than underwired bikinis.’

The reality star went on to thank her social media followers for helping her get out of a ‘funk’ after struggling to fit into her clothing.

Ashley ended her post by stating: ‘I also just want to say, I was in such a funk when I first arrived what with no maternity shorts and lots of my summer things not fitting, but you guys were so lovely and encouraging.

‘You got me out of the funk, so thank you! Compliments from other women are just the most powerful compliments in the world.’
