He shot to fame in the early 2000s, following the success of his ABC TV series Race Around the World.

And a lot has changed for SBS star John Safran since his days as Australia’s most provocative documentary filmmaker.

John, 48, who famously put a voodoo hex on an ex-girlfriend in Africa, participated in an exorcism on live TV and streaked through Jerusalem wearing just a footy scarf and beanie, has stepped away from the spotlight in recent years.

The Logie nominee’s last television appearance was in 2016, when he starred in SBS’ The Goddam Election! Special – a show about the impact of religion and race on Australia’s minor political parties.

In 2017, the political comedian turned his attention to writing, releasing a non-fiction novel called Depends What You Mean by Extremist.

The book details his first-hand experience investigating Australian extremists and radicals, including white nationalists, ISIS supporters and anarchists.

In 2013, he released a true crime book titled Murder in Mississippi, about the killing of American white supremacist Richard Barrett in 2010.

In 2019, John resurfaced to promote his podcast John Safran vs The Occult, a five-part series exploring satanic cults and exorcisms.

John previously put his body on the line by participating in a real-life exorcism for his 2004 ABC series John Safran vs God.

In November last year, John spoke to The Sydney Morning Herald about his decision to move away from gonzo film-making and into making podcasts.

‘The thing about getting [physically] involved in the story is it’s only great if it’s going to come across as sincere, if there’s a reason to get involved,’ he said.

‘I just got out of the way and let the story tell itself.’

In September 2019, John starred in a live comedy show titled Jew Detective: Sarcasm is not a Crime – an irreverently comedic account of his experiences with extremists and the online criticism he has attracted through his career.

In recent years, John has also developed a following on social media for his witty quips and unusual observations about everyday experiences.

brooklyn beckham and nicola peltz have postponed their wedding to 2022

Brooklyn Beckham ‘has postponed his wedding to Nicola Peltz to 2022 so the couple do not have to limit the number of guests due to the coronavirus pandemic’.

The eldest son of David and Victoria, 21, and actress Nicola, 25, plan to exchange vows at the Beckhams’ Cotswolds estate and her home state of Florida to ensure both of their loved ones can attend.

The couple are understood to have originally told guests to save the date for September 2021 but have pushed the celebrations to 2022 because it is ‘too risky’.

A source told The Mirror: ‘They originally told close friends to save a date in September 2021.

‘This week, Brooklyn told his mates they’ve decided to postpone as it’s too risky.’

The source revealed that the couple may choose to tie the knot on their own and have celebrations in 2022.

MailOnline has contacted representatives of Brooklyn Beckham for comment.

Brooklyn and Nicola, the daughter of US tycoon Nelson Peltz, announced their engagement in July following a whirlwind romance and plan to exchange vows in two celebrations on both sides of the Atlantic.

It’s thought that Brooklyn will have his brothers Romeo, 18, and Cruz, 15, as his best men for the ceremony, with proud mum Victoria designing actress Nicola’s wedding gown.

According to The Sun, Brooklyn’s sister Harper, nine, will be chief bridesmaid for Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding.

Brooklyn’s father David will act as the master of ceremonies, with his younger sons being best men for the celebration and giving a joint speech at the reception.

A source said: ‘Brooklyn is incredibly family focused, just like his parents, and the boys are so close. They are brothers and best mates.

‘Although many assumed David would get the gig, there was really never any question of who he would choose to be his best men.’

It’s also been reported that Victoria has been given the honour of designing Nicola’s wedding dress, with the insider adding that it’s likely to be a sleek minimal design and has even considered designing a suit for the blushing bride.

It’ll be the third big-name design for Victoria, after she created pal Eva Longoria’s dress in 2016, followed by a dress worn by Meghan Markle on Christmas Day.

As expected the wedding will boast a star-studded guest list, with names such as Victoria’s Spice Girls bandmates Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Horner.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz for comment.

Katherine Jenkins says she had to ‘learn to live in the same house’ as her husband during lockdown

katherine jenkins says she had to learn to live in the same house as her husband during lockdown

She’s the mezzo-soprano who’s used to a jet-set lifestyle, performing all over the world.

And Katherine Jenkins opened up on the downtime she’s spent with her family during the coronavirus lockdown, as she stated that her experience was ‘quite full on’.

Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show in scenes to be aired on Saturday, the Welsh singer, 40, revealed she had to ‘learn to live in the same house’ as her husband Andrew Levitas, 43, after spending so much time apart.

With her busy career keeping her away from the family home a lot of the time, Katherine reflected on having to make the happy adjustment of seeing her filmmaker husband night after night.

She said: ‘It felt quite full on. I haven’t spent that many consecutive nights in the same house with my husband, so that was lovely.

‘I was always away or he was away filming. We had to learn to live in the same house.’

Katherine also shared fellow guest Daniel Mays’ thoughts on home-schooling being tough, with the actor remarking that he ‘didn’t know if I was coming or going’.

The singer shared: ‘I’ve got a 2 and a 5-year-old. A little bit of home-schooling – I feel your pain on that [Daniel].’

Meanwhile, Katherine opened up about being directed by her husband in upcoming World War Two film Minamata.

She said of Andrew: ‘He really wanted me to do the role. I don’t consider myself as an actress. To be in a scene with Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy – I actually said no a few times.

‘Eventually I gave in. It’s an amazing story about corporate greed and standing up for the small people. I said, “These are the only few days of your life you get to boss me around”.’

She continued: ‘It was really nice to work with my husband. It’s a very different process. When we perform, it’s an instant reaction and you go home. With filming it takes so much longer and so long before everyone sees the results. I guess you have to be more patient.’

Katherine and Andrew began dating on 2013, before trying the knot at Hampton Court Palace in September 2014.

They’ve since welcomed daughter Aaliyah, five, and two-year-old Xander.

The opera sensation has previously spoken about the impact that her and her husband being at home a lot has had on her kids.

Speaking on Loose Women in July, she said: ‘I think the kids have really thrived having us both there and so we take the positive of that, but it’s actually been really special to get this time together.’

Katherine went to sweetly say how much her children has changed her life, adding that they’ve made her a ‘better version’ of herself.

She said: ‘Becoming a wife, I love being a mum, it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

‘Being a mum has made me a lot more patient, more sure of myself and my choices, it’s made me realise my priorities in life. So I think it’s just made me a better version of myself.’

The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturday at 10pm on ITV.

She has been working hard on her UK TV comeback, with a new report claiming she’s in line to present a new gameshow for ITV.

And Cat Deeley cut a casual figure as she stepped out for an al fresco lunch in Primrose Hill, London, with designer Matthew Williamson, 48, on Thursday.

The TV presenter, 43, wrapped up for the occasion in a black and white check jacket which she paired with denim jeans for the autumnal outing.

Cat wore her blonde locks in her signature sleek style which she tucked under a grey scarf for the luncheon.

The mother-of-two opted for a fresh-faced look to highlight her naturally-radiant complexion and carried her everyday essentials in a leather Chanel handbag.

She opted for comfortable high-top black trainers for the occasion as she sipped a glass of fizz outside the restaurant.

The designer toted an oversized canvas bag on his shoulder and added a pop of colour with orange trainers as he walked with Cat to their lunch reservation.

It comes after The Sun report that Cat is in advanced talks with the channel and has already recorded a pilot episode in a bid to impress bosses.

Check out Cat wearing an Anine Bing jacket

Just like many other A-listers, Cat Deeley is a big fan of Anine Bing, so we didn’t have to wonder for long where she got this statement jacket.

The wool-mix shakcet style is right on cue with the trends whilst the longline, loose fit means you can wear it over everything. Plus with the monochrome check, it’s timeless.

The ‘Maeve’ jacket is definitely worth clicking (right) to invest but if you want to get Cat’s look for less then head to the carousel.

From SHEIN to Mango and Next we’ve rounded up the best look-alikes that won’t break the bank but will have you turning heads just like the presenter.

An insider said: ‘Cat is a huge name and found fame on ITV so to welcome her back would be a real coup for the channel.

‘She was approached to front a new gameshow. It’s a big-money game and is a totally new concept that’s not been seen before.

‘Cat filmed the pilot on Saturday and it was a really successful day. If the pilot is given the green light, the dream is to get Cat signed up as the host and launch it as a series.’

The insider added that Cat’s team are working behind the scenes to negotiate a deal but the talks are still ongoing.

Since returning to the UK from LA earlier this year Cat has been busy filming a special reunion show for her Saturday morning ITV series SMTV with Ant and Dec, which they starred on from 1998 until 2002.

TV star Cat moved Stateside 14 years ago to focus on her career with husband Patrick Kielty, with whom she has two sons, Milo, four and James, two, but recently returned to the UK full-time after putting their £4m LA home up for sale.

Since 2006, the media personality has presented the competition show So You Think You Can Dance in the US, and has been nominated for five Primetime Emmys.
