katie price reunites with son harvey after breaking her feet in freak accident on holiday in turkey

Katie Price reunited with her son Harvey for the first time since returning home after breaking both of her feet in a freak accident during her Turkish holiday.

In a sweet clip shared to Instagram on Wednesday, the former glamour model, 42, kissed her eldest child, 18, who was forced to stay in the UK after fighting for his life during a 10-day ICU stint last month.

The reality TV star reassured her teenager that she’ll be on the mend soon in order to ‘look after him’ following her sunny trip with her kids Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, and her new boyfriend Carl Woods.

Sharing a cuddle with his doting mother, an excited Harvey said: ‘I love it when mummy’s home!’

The former I’m A Celebrity contestant, who broke her feet from jumping over a wall ‘without judging the height’, beamed as she asked him: ‘Did you miss mummy?’, to which he replied: ‘Yeah!’.

The media personality and her son later shared a peck, before he made a reference to her injury by saying she ‘bashed’ her leg.

Katie ended the clip by cutely stating: ‘I did, I’m getting them fixed aren’t I as I need to look to after you. I love you!’

The mother-of-five was said to be ‘heartbroken’ that Harvey couldn’t come with them on holiday as planned.

The TV star has Harvey from a relationship with his estranged father Dwight Yorke, 48, Junior and Princess with singer Peter Andre, 47, and Jett and Bunny, both six, with ex-stripper Kieran Hayler, 33.

Eight doctors fought to save his life after suffering from breathing complications and his temperature rising to 42 degrees.

A source told The Sun ahead of the trip: ‘Doctors told Katie it would be better for Harvey’s health if he stayed at home. She’s heartbroken but of course she’ll take doctors advice.

‘Harvey will stay at home with his carer and Katie will still go – she’s taking Princess and Junior and some of their friends and she didn’t want to cancel their holiday and let them down, especially as Princess’s birthday party was disrupted by Harvey going to hospital.’

The blonde arrived back to the UK on Tuesday and was pushed in a wheelchair out of the airport by airport staff, accompanied by her two middle children and her beau Carl, 31.

She was rushed to A&E last week for emergency surgery after doctors realised the extent of her horrific injuries. The journey to recovery will be a long road for Katie as she won’t be able to walk for three to six months.

According to doctors, she will need pins in her feet which will undoubtedly be another agonising experience.

Earlier this week, Katie slammed trolls who accused her of faking her injury – as her daughter Princess claimed her mother won’t walk properly for a year.

Taking to an Instagram video, the mother and daughter addressed those who have accused them of lying – after one troll claimed Katie was in fact abroad having bunion surgery.

‘By the way, someone said on my Instagram, “Oh she has had bunions done on both feet!”

‘Well, when I have the X-rays and show you, I haven’t had bunions, I have never had bunions in my life!’ Katie insisted.

Princess then chimed in, saying: ‘She’ll be in a wheelchair for three to six months – but she won’t walk for a year!’

The great and good of Hollywood gathered virtually for the 72nd Annual Emmy Awards, with many appearing from their LA homes.

Yet the event was not quite so straight forward for Unorthodox’s Shira Haas, who was forced to stay awake till 4.15am as she chatted from her home in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Sure to impress, the Israeli actress, 25, who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her work on the Netflix limited series, looked incredible in a Chanel dress which took an eye-watering 1,200 hours to create.

Shira plays Esty, a 19-year-old Jewish woman who runs away from her Ultra-Orthodox community in New York City to start a life in Berlin.

Sure to steal the show despite missing out on her gong, Shira donned an embroidered organza and chiffon bustier dress from Chanel’s stunning Spring-Summer 2020 Haute Couture collection.

The dress required 1,200 hours of work with more than 20,000 elements, including embroidery with hand cut and painted organza petals in pink, yellow and green

Back in April, Shira recalled her shock and nerves at having to shave her head for the powerful Netflix drama series.

Reflecting on the role, Shira – who was born in Tel Aviv to a Jewish family told British Vogue that she didn’t know about many of the practises in this community, including shaving your head after marriage.

Recalling having to be filmed having her hair shaved, Shira confessed she was shocked to learn it would be one of the first scenes she shot.

She recalled: ‘That was the final scene on the first day. When Maria [Schrader, the director] told me it was going to happen right at the beginning, I was so shocked.

Wow! She looked incredible in a Chanel dress which took an eye-watering 1,200 hours to create

‘But, it was great because it really got me into character. Of course, your head can only be shaved once so I knew it would be one take and I had to get it right.

‘I was nervous, but I was willing to do it in order to tell this story.’

The reason why Ultra-Orthodox Jewish women shave their heads has been disputed, with  Rabbi Avram Mlotek telling Refinery29 that some religious interpretations determine ‘woman’s hair to be nakedness and part of the alluring nature of the effeminate.’

Other websites about Jewish tradition and culture state that the only person who should see a married woman’s hair is her husband.

Shira spent months researching the Ultra-Orthodox community, explaining to Vogue, ‘every Jewish community is different and you really can’t generalise.’

The actress revealed she travelled to Berlin two months before filming began in order to learn Yiddish, which she revealed is ‘very different’ to her native Hebrew.

Shira also had to take piano and singing lessons in preparation for the role, and several consultations with the show’s religious consultant, revealing that the cast rehearsed for two full days before filming the wedding scene to ensure it looked authentic.

Unorthodox tells the story of a young woman named Esther ‘Esty’ Shapiro, [Shira Haas] who decides to flee the Hasidic Jewish community in Williamsberg.

She flees to start a new life in Berlin, Germany away from her arranged marriage to Yanky [Amit Rahav], who tries to track her down and win her back.

He enlists the help of his rule-breaking and sinister cousin, Moishe Lefkovitch, played by Jeff Wilbusch. The series is loosely based on a true-story memoir Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection Of My Hasidic Roots by Deborah Feldman.

Uzo Aduba made a statement at this year’s Emmy Awards as she honoured Breonna Taylor, who was shot dead by Louisville Metro Police Department as they served a no-knock warrant at her home in March.

The screen star, 39, sported a T-shirt emblazoned with the emergency medical technician’s name as she scooped the Supporting Actress in Limited Series or Movie for her portrayal as Shirley Chisholm in historical drama Mrs. America.

Speaking from her home during the virtual ceremony, the thespian said: ‘I want to say thank you for Shirley Chisholm for her championship work for all people who have been forgotten, marginalized, who she represented.’

The media personality teamed her powerful item of clothing with metallic bottoms and hooped earrings, while her braided locks were swept into a bun.

On playing the first African-American woman elected to the United States Congress, the Orange Is The New Black star told PEOPLE: ‘It means a lot, particularly for the character that I was able and fortunate enough to play.

‘Shirley Chisholm was a trailblazer and a champion for those who had been forgotten and left behind, and those who had no voice where they should. It feels especially touching to bring her story to light, and the stories of those who have not been heard.’

The TV and film star added that her character helped her highlight Breonna’s story through her outfit as she added: ‘It felt like, in this time, I didn’t want to leave what’s happening outside. I want to bring the world in and represent and speak for those who have been forgotten.’

The ceremony was presented by Jimmy Kimmel at Los Angeles’ Staples Center and didn’t feature an audience due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The three officers who fired their weapons during the night of Breonna’s death have been at the centre of consistent public backlash, with protesters calling for them to be fired and charged with murder.

One of the officers, Brett Hankison, was fired for ‘blindly’ firing 10 shots into Taylor’s apartment from outside. The other two, John Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove, remain on the force on administrative assignment.

Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton, actress Halle Berry and singer Mariah Carey have also worn charity protest T-shirts calling for the ‘arrest of the cops who killed her’.

The Mercedes driver wasn’t punished for sporting the ‘political’ item of clothing during a recent appearance at the Tuscan Grand Prix, where he celebrated his 90th career win.

The Kentucky Attorney General is still investigating the killing, which has led to riots in America.

On the night of Breonna’s death, officers attended her apartment after securing a court-approved warrant as part of a drugs investigation that allowed officers to enter her home without any prior warning.

The suspect at the centre of the probe had apparently lived at the same address years earlier and continued to receive packages there.

The shooting of Breonna Taylor

Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old black emergency medical technician, was fatally shot by Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove on March 13, 2020.

Three plainclothes LMPD officers entered her apartment in Louisville, Kentucky, executing a no-knock search warrant (although, according to the police account and witnesses present at the scene, the officers nonetheless knocked before forcing entry).

Gunfire was exchanged between Taylor’s boyfriend Kenneth Walker and the officers. Walker said that he believed that the officers were intruders. The LMPD officers fired over twenty shots. Taylor was shot eight times and LMPD Sergeant Jonathan Mattingly was injured by gunfire. Another police officer and an LMPD lieutenant were on the scene when the warrant was executed.

The primary targets of the LMPD investigation were Jamarcus Glover and Adrian Walker, who were suspected of selling controlled substances from a drug house more than 10 miles away. According to a Taylor family attorney, Glover had dated Taylor two years before and continued to have a ‘passive friendship’.

The search warrant included Taylor’s residence because it was suspected that Glover received packages containing drugs at Taylor’s apartment and because a car registered to Taylor had been seen parked on several occasions in front of Glover’s house. No drugs were found in the apartment.

Kenneth Walker, who was licensed to carry a firearm, fired first, injuring a law enforcement officer, whereupon police returned fire into the apartment with more than 20 rounds.

A wrongful death lawsuit filed against the police by the Taylor family’s attorney alleges that the officers, who entered Taylor’s home ‘without knocking and without announcing themselves as police officers’, opened fire ‘with a total disregard for the value of human life’. However, according to the police account, the officers did knock and announce themselves before forcing entry.

A New York Times investigation confirmed from interviews with Kenneth Walker and with Taylor’s neighbours that the police had knocked loudly before breaking in, but most had not heard them announce themselves.

Mr Mattingly and Mr Cosgrove also opened fire. Ms Taylor was hit eight times and pronounced dead at the scene.

‘Somebody kicked in the door and shot my girlfriend,’ a frantic Mr Walker told dispatchers in a 911 call.

Unbeknownst to the officers at their home, the suspect they were searching for had been taken into custody hours earlier in a separate location.

Breonna’s death received national attention two months later, following the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minnesota police in May.
