Keeley Hawes transformed into a grief-stricken widow as she continued her return to filming new drama Finding Alice in Surrey on Thursday, six months after production was halted due to COVID-19 in March.

The actress, 43, stars as the lead character Alice, who navigates love and life after the death of her husband Harry in the six-part series.

Keeley was seen looking concerned as Sharon Rooney’s character Nicola was loaded into an ambulance in tense scenes – after filming resumed on the drama in mid September.

The Line Of Duty actress wore her locks in a ponytail and appeared to go make-up free for the scenes.

Between takes Keeley and Sharon were seen chatting, as crew members wearing masks and social distancing prepared the scene.

The upcoming six part series was created by the actress alongside writers Roger Goldby and Simon Nye.

Finding Alice was one of many dramas which paused filming when the coronavirus pandemic took hold earlier this year.

It focuses on Alice’s raw and blackly comic journey of grief after the death of her husband Harry, which unveils a mess of secret debt, suspicion and criminality.

Alice is left with a sense of loss and abandonment when Harry has a fatal fall down the stairs after they move into their dream house, which he designed.

Keeley said when the series was announced in October: ‘I am absolutely delighted to be working with the brilliant Simon Nye and the hugely talented Roger Goldby on a project that means so much to all of us.

‘I have been a huge fan of [Red Production Company founder] Nicola Shindler for many years and I’m thrilled to be working with her at last on Finding Alice.’

Harry’s past begins to unravel after Alice finds she can’t open the garage doors.

ITV teases: ‘If that were her only problem…

‘Men have a habit of hiding stuff that they don’t want to deal with, and Alice discovers that Harry was worse than most.’

ITV’s head of drama Polly Hill added: ‘This is a brilliant script – emotionally truthful and darkly funny.

‘It’s about family and grief and introduces us to the wonderfully original character of Alice. The show has been developed with Keeley Hawes, and Alice was written for her, and she is going to be unmissable in the role.

‘I’m delighted to be working with Simon Nye, Roger Goldby and Nicola Shindler to bring Finding Alice to ITV next year.’

And producer Nicola commented: ‘When Keeley, Roger and Simon came to me with ‘Finding Alice’ I was so excited to find a project about a complex, flawed and funny woman in such extreme circumstances who I felt an audience would fall in love with.

‘This is exactly the kind of drama I love to make at Red and look forward to starting shooting.’

An exact release date is yet to be announced, but according to ITV it will be released later this year.

candice warner appears to have replaced roxy jacenko with ali oetjen as her new best friend

She recently fell out with former friend Roxy Jacenko after being pitted against each other on Channel Seven’s SAS Australia.

And it seems Candice Warner, 35, has already found a suitable candidate to replace Roxy as her best friend – fellow SAS Australia recruit Ali Oetjen, 34.

Candice alluded to her new-found bond with the Bachelorette star on Tuesday by uploading two Instagram photos of the pair competing on SAS Australia together.

The women were pictured carrying a tyre through the mud together during Monday night’s season premiere.

A second photo saw the mother-of-three hiking up a treacherous-looking cliff with Ali by her side.

Ali promptly commented on the post, writing: ‘Soul sister’ alongside two queen emojis.

‘Always!!’ Candice replied, adding two love-heart emojis.

Candice and Ali’s public display of camaraderie came as Roxy officially ended her friendship with Candice on Tuesday’s Kyle And Jackie O Show.

The 40-year-old PR guru explained that she no longer considers Candice a friend after the women were pitted against each other in a physical fight during Monday’s season premiere of SAS Australia.

‘You know what? Is [Candice] really my friend anymore? No,’ Roxy raged.

‘You know why I never hit back? She’s my mate and I’m not going to smack [her] in the face for other people’s entertainment,’ she added.

‘You wouldn’t continue punching when the person – me – turns their back and continue punching them in the back of the head. In boxing, that’s totally not allowed. The reality is, I can’t punch my then-friend in the face for people’s entertainment.’

Roxy said she reached out to Candice after filming the show in the NSW Snowy Mountains in August and tried to repair their broken friendship.

But instead of accepting the olive branch, Roxy claimed that Candice simply ‘sacked her’ as her manager instead.

‘No, she sacked me instead,’ Roxy laughed. ‘People will always let you down. I believe after what I did for Candice that it was a real smack in the face, pardon the pun.’

sunrise the cash cow is unmasked on live tv in embarrassing gaffe

The hosts of Channel Seven’s Sunrise were left in stitches on Thursday after the Cash Cow’s head fell off during a hilarious live TV gaffe.

The mascot pops up during Sunrise’s money giveaways, but the identity of the person behind the novelty outfit is a closely guarded industry secret.

But all that changed when the Cash Cow’s energetic dance routine caused the head of the costume to topple off, revealing the young male staffer underneath.

‘How would you like to win some cash?’ asked Samantha Armytage at 7:42am as the show cut to the Cash Cow dancing outside Brekky Central in Sydney’s Martin Place.

‘The Cash Cow has $20,000 to give away for our lucky winner,’ she added.

The mascot pretended to be a ski jumper using two umbrellas as poles, and as he threw his head back to simulate a leap off the ramp, his head flew into the air.

The man wearing the costume immediately dropped the umbrellas and covered his face with his hands, then rushed off camera.

Back in the studio, Samantha and her colleagues burst into fits of laughter as co-host David Koch yelled out: ‘Sorry, kiddies! Oh, no.’

‘Something terrible’s happened,’ said sports reporter Mark Beretta.

‘You’re terrible, Muriel. That’s funny,’ added newsreader Natalie Barr in between fits of giggles.

Samantha, 44, reassured viewers that the Cash Cow was ‘alright’ and ‘okay’ as the mascot fell to its knees outside and begged for forgiveness.

The clumsy cow then rolled around on the pavement in distress.

It’s not the first time Sunrise has suffered a live TV gaffe, as weatherman Sam Mac was accused by his colleagues on air earlier this month of being ‘hungover’.

On October 5, Samantha asked Sam, 38, if he was ‘alright’ while broadcasting live from Adelaide Zoo, adding: ‘We’re a bit worried about you this morning.’

David, 64, agreed with his colleague and said that Sam looked a bit ‘dusty’.

‘No! I was in bed by eight o’clock,’ replied Sam. ‘You can check the CCTV footage from the hotel. I had a very quiet night.’

But the hosts wouldn’t let it go, and Samantha went on to say: ‘You jut seemed a little bit vague and distracted.’

‘That’s how I always am! You’ve seen the show,’ argued Sam, who seemed genuinely surprised by the suggestion.

Sam later clarified on Instagram that he wasn’t hungover at the time.

naya riveras sister nickayla and ex ryan dorsey run errands after moving in to raise son josey

Last month Naya Rivera’s sister Nickayla and ex Ryan Dorsey revealed that they had moved in together in order to help raise her five-year-old son Josey.

And the 26-year-old sister of the Glee star and 37-year-old actor were seen grabbing burgers at iconic California burger joint, In-N-Out, in Santa Clarita over the weekend.

The two have found solace in a friendship together after the untimely passing of Nickayla’s sister and Ryan’s ex wife, Naya Rivera, in July.

No doubt they have a bond as they shared a laugh together while ordering at the drive thru.

The two were also seen heading to the gym together on Monday before grabbing tacos together for lunch.

Last month Dorsey posted an emotional video on Instagram on Tuesday addressing claims made about his relationship with Nickayla.

The actor stated that his late ex-wife’s sister moved in with him at the request of his son Josey, 5, ‘because she’s now the closest thing he has to a mom’.

Ryan revealed that he hasn’t been following either social media since former Glee star Naya accidentally drowned in July while boating on a lake with her young son.

He said: ‘I usually don’t read comments on my own stuff because I know how there can be 50 good things said and five negative ones.

‘Somehow as humans we get those five negative ones stuck in our heads wondering how people could say certain things.’

He said: ‘It was brought to my attention that people have a lot to say and have opinions on a family’s tragic situation.

‘99% of strangers that don’t even know this family. And I’ll be honest, I probably read about 10 and that was enough to know that is why I don’t read comments.

‘There’s people making judgments, making assumptions and sending terrible messages wishing death upon strangers that they truly know next to zero about.

It’s really insane but I’ll just say a couple of things about that one.

It’s truly sad that this is the world we live in where people were raised to think it’s OK to spew hatred in general, especially to make statements about a family who are dealing with a tragedy that I hope is so unimaginable that neither you or anyone that is close to you ever has to go through.’

Ryan later confirmed in the video that Nickayla moved in at the request of his son.

‘[Josey] asks me if Titi can live with us. ”I want Titi to live with us forever,” because she’s now the closest thing he has to a mom. You’re going to need all the help you can get as a single parent trying to build your career and navigate this disaster with your child,’ Ryan said.

Ryan said that he was determined to give Josey the family that he asked for even though ‘it’s temporary and it’s not forever’.

‘It’s a temporary situation. After all that he’s had to go through how could you deny him that? Because of what? What some strangers might think or say,’ he added.

He praised model Nickayla and her family for supporting him after the tragedy.

‘To have a young woman who is his blood, his Titi, who is willing to put her life on hold and sacrifice things, uproot her situation for the betterment of your child,’ Ryan said.

The Ray Donovan actor said Nickayla has been helping him cope with his grief.

‘So when you put your child to bed you don’t always have to be alone with your thoughts and you don’t have to be sad any day or night wondering when does it get better. At least you have someone there with you to talk to or just sit in silence and be sad with. You don’t have to deal with being completely alone,’ he said.

He branded the speculation that they were in a relationship as ‘absurd’.

‘S*** man, I wish I was worried about a relationship right now. Not thinking about this and living with this every day,’ Ryan said.

Nickayla addressed the speculation earlier that week on Instagram as she posted, ‘What matters most I’ve learned, is to show compassion, not to judge others, & never take a moment of life for granted. I hope you all do the same’.

Ryan and Naya got married on his birthday in July 2014 in Mexico and welcomed Josey on September 17, 2015. She filed for divorce for a second time in December 2017 and it was finalized in June 2018.

Naya, who was age 33 at the time of her death, starred on Glee as lesbian cheerleader Santana Lopez from 2009 to 2015.

Her family released a statement in the wake of authorities recovering her body back in July.

They wrote: ‘We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers for Naya, Josey and our family over the past week.

‘While we grieve the loss of our beautiful legend, we are blessed to honor her everlasting legacy and magnetic spirit. Naya was an amazing talent, but was an even greater person, mother, daughter and sister.

‘Thank you to the men and women of the Ventura, Tulare, and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Departments for your commitment and unwavering effort to find Naya.

‘We extend endless gratitude and ovation to the heroine who found her. Thank you to her friends, colleagues, and fans for your continuous support.

Authorities with Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office said Rivera had died due to accidental drowning.

‘The circumstances and visual characteristics all indicated that the body was that of Naya Rivera and the identity has been confirmed by dental comparison,’ a report states. ‘The autopsy findings are consistent with a drowning and the condition of the body is consistent with the time that she was submerged.

‘No traumatic injuries or disease processes were identified at autopsy.

‘There is no indication from the investigation or examination that drugs or alcohol played a role in the decedent’s death, but specimens will be submitted for toxicology testing,’ it added.

The date of pronouncement was listed as Monday, July 13.

The Glee star’s body was recovered from the northeast portion of Lake Piru, located 50 miles north of Los Angeles, on Monday after she went missing last week.
