The weekend has brought further protesting and demonstrations throughout the country from Washington, D.C. to Southern California, with famous faces continuing to pop up in the crowds of protesters.

Two of those seen on Saturday were rocker Pink and her husband Carey Hart, who each posted to their Instagram accounts from a protest in what looked to be a sunny square somewhere in the Santa Ynez Valley where they reside.

The Grammy-winning musician, 40, posed in a blue T-shirt that displayed the word ‘Nah.’ over the subheading, ‘Rosa Parks, 1955’.

Pink, who recently survived an intense ordeal with COVID-19, had a mask on her face and a bottle of hand sanitizer tucked into her pocket.

She wore one of her trademark knotted headscarves, this one checked black and white, and she wore black aviator-style sunglasses.

The mother of two, born Alecia Moore, had her hand up in a peace sign.

On December 1st, 1955, American black southerner Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama and was subsequently arrested, sparking the Montgomery bus boycott and elevating Parks to a symbol for peaceful resistance to racial discrimination.

Both she and husband Carey, 44, posted video from the action, which showed fellow demonstrators holding various handmade signs.

On his post, Hart included a selfie as well as a picture of his wife, along with his video snippet.

A month after his shock death at 43, Netflix has released the first images of Chadwick Boseman in his final role.

The actor completed production on Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom before he succumbed to colon cancer after a secret four-year battle with the disease.

On Wednesday, the streaming service tweeted four photos from the upcoming drama which explores racial tensions in Chicago in 1927.

Boseman stars in the movie as a horn player for blues singer Ma Rainey, played by Viola Davis.

The screenplay was adapted by Ruben Santiago-Hudson from Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson’s 1982 play.

The story, set against the racial tensions of the jazz age, centers on a recording session during which Ma Rainey clashes with her white manager and producer over control of her music.

Boseman’s character Levee also seeks to influence her recordings to further his own career and truth and lies are spun within the confines of the claustrophobic rehearsal room as the drama reaches a climax.

The film will premiere on Netflix on December 18.

Davis, who won an Oscar for 2016’s Fences, told the NY Times that Boseman had poured himself fully into the role.

‘An actor of Chadwick’s status usually comes on and it’s their ego who comes on before them: This is what they want, this is what they’re not going to do,’ the actress, 55, explained.

‘That was absolutely, 150 percent off the table with Chadwick. He could completely discard whatever ego he had, whatever vanity he had, and welcome Levee in.’

Director George C. Wolfe has previously described making the movie with Boseman as ‘a glorious experience.’

‘Everyday we all got to witness the ferocity of his talent and the gentleness of his heart. A truly blessed, loving, gifted and giving human being,’ Wolfe declared.

Boseman had continued to pursue his acting career despite his diagnosis and had undergone treatment while starring as Marvel’s Black Panther.

He also completed work on 21 Bridges, released in November 2019, and Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods, released in June, before his death on August 28.

Recently, his 21 Bridges co-star Sienna Miller revealed that Boseman, who also served as a producer on the movie, had stepped in when the studio refused to meet her salary demand for the project.

‘This was a pretty big budget film, and I know that everybody understands about the pay disparity in Hollywood, but I asked for a number that the studio wouldn’t get to,’ Miller, 38, told Empire magazine. ‘And because I was hesitant to go back to work and my daughter was starting school and it was an inconvenient time, I said: ‘I’ll do it if I’m compensated in the right way.”

She added: ‘And Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number that I had asked for. He said that that was what I deserved to be paid.’

Miller described the gesture as ‘testament’ to Boseman’s character and said she couldn’t imagine any other man in Hollywood ‘behaving that graciously or respectfully’.

the bachelors bella varelis why she was given villain edit following fight with irena srbinovska

Her soured friendship with Irena Srbinovska is at the point of no return.

And The Bachelor‘s Bella Varelis has now revealed that producers gave her the unfavourable villain edit because they were desperate for Locky Gilbert’s winner Irena to look good.

Speaking on the Shameless podcast, the 25-year-old explained: ‘They’re not going to make the person he ended up with look bad. I guess I had to cop the brunt of that’.

Bella’s comments on the negative editing she received came after she explained that there was a lot that viewers didn’t see during her fight with former friend, Irena.

‘People on social media tell me, “you can’t blame the edit, those things came out of your mouth!”

‘Well, no. What you’re not seeing are the questions that I was asked to give those answers. They’re cutting out the questions to make it look like I’m saying those things on my own accord.

‘They’re cutting out the taunts and probing, the emotional reactions from other people as well, so you’re [viewers] not seeing the whole story. You’re seeing about five per cent of what’s happening at that moment.’

Revealing that she wasn’t usually one to ‘pop off’, Bella explained that the showdown with Irena began after she approached her about things that Izzy Sharman-Firth and Steph Harper had heard her saying.

‘I was confronting her about some things I’ve heard, and she was denying them. Steph and Izzy actually heard her denying and came and sat down, and they were like, “hang on a second! Let’s just rehash because now you’re going to make Bella question our integrity.”

Bella went on to say that she felt her ‘smoke bubbling’ at the time, and when Irena asked if their friendship was over, she said yes and walked off.

‘Even in the moment, I was like f***, I shouldn’t have done that!’ Bella reflected.

Viewers watched Bella turn on Irena mid-season, after the women and Locky were forced to return to their homes during the coronavirus pandemic for three months.

Upon their return to the mansion, Bella branded Irena a ‘manipulative little b***h’ and claimed she was exaggerating her relationship with Locky.

former home and away star jake ryan reveals joy at becoming a father to son wolf

Former Home And Away star Jake Ryan welcomed his first child, a son Wolf William, in October last year.

And ahead of his boy’s first birthday, the actor has spoken about his journey of parenthood with DJ girlfriend, Alice Quiddington.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday, Jake said: ‘It’s not an easy road; fatherhood or parenthood. But it’s the most rewarding and beautiful time. I’ve loved every second of it.’

Jake and Alice’s son Wolf will turn one on October 6, and the TV star says his life has already taken on new meaning and purpose.

‘My days are just consumed with him, and everything that you sort of do for life is about your child now which is great. It’s nice to have that, to have someone else to work towards, apart from yourself,’ he said.

While he joked that he goes to bed earlier and gets less sleep than ever before, he finds being a father ‘beautiful and rewarding’ and is looking forward to more milestones with his little man as the years go on.

Jake also finds it funny that his character on Channel Seven’s soap Home and Away helped prepare him for his role as a real-life father.

‘I kind of laugh at Robbo’s storyline, because as I was sort of leaving the show he was becoming a father and I got a great crash course on how to deal with babies for the last eight weeks that I was there,’ he said.

Alice and Jake announced they were expecting their first child in May last year – the same month Jake was spotted filming scenes with a baby on the soap with his on-screen wife, played by Bachelor star Sam Frost.

Jake was dramatically killed off Home and Away during the season premiere in January 2020.
