plate of origin seven is forced to pay out matt gary and manus three season contracts

Just 335,000 people tuned in to watch the finale of Plate of Origin last month, raking in the worst ratings of the entire season.

And the cooking show’s dismal reception means it almost certainly won’t return for another series on Channel Seven, according to Woman’s Day.

The publication also claims the network has been forced to ‘pay out’ hosts Manu Feildel, Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan – who were all reportedly on three-season deals.

‘All three of them signed on for three seasons of Plate of Origin,’ the insider said.

‘Seven really thought the comeback would have delivered a loyal audience, so the figure was no small number.

‘But due to the lacklustre ratings and with no other cooking shows in the pipeline, Seven are now in the process of paying them out of their contracts and are keen to forget it ever happened.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Seven for comment.

On the same night as Plate of Origin’s disastrous season finale, Channel Nine’s The Block raked in a whopping 807,000 viewers.

The last episode saw Team Greece’s Dezi, 41, and Penny, 33, crowned champions, taking home a $100,000 cash prize.

The network hasn’t said if the show will ever make a return to screens.

khloe and kourtney kardashian show off the backside of their bikini looks

Khloe Kardashian and sister Kourtney Kardashian are not done showing off their bikini looks from their sister Kim Kardashian‘s 40th birthday, despite all the criticism.

On Friday, the pair showed off the backside of their bikini ensembles in yet another throwback to the controversial getaway.

Kourtney, 41, posted the snap of the pair as they posed by two palm trees, against the turquoise waters at Marlon Brando’s The Brando Resort in Tahiti.

Earlier this week, Khloe displayed her taut midriff in a fuchsia bandana print bikini which was embossed with the iconic double C Chanel logo and came complete with black straps, in another series of snaps.

She let her brunette tresses tumble down in a straight hairstyle, and rocked a flawless make-up look that highlighted her bronzed complexion.

Shortly after posting the images, Khloe turned off the comment section- most likely due to the backlash she received for flaunting their luxurious vacation amid global lockdown restrictions.

Followers took to social media to brand their recent trip- reportedly worth $1million- as ‘tone deaf and insensitive’, while the likes of Colin Hanks and Ronan Farrow mocked Kim for captioning her holiday snap as, ‘girls just wanna have sun’.

Meanwhile British rocker Peter Frampton advised her that sharing the images was ill-timed: ‘Are you that insensitive you don’t realize this is not what the majority of people during the worst covid spike yet want to hear? People are going to food banks not private islands.’

Their getaway even became a trending topic on social media as Kim’s closest family and friends were flown out to the $20,000 a night island extravaganza.

Despite the fear of contagion, a source from Page Six confirmed that all guests on the trip were ‘repeatedly tested for COVID.’

Her holiday snaps happened to be posted on the same day a new preview for their show Keeping Up With The Kardashians was released – where Khloe revealed she tested positive for coronavirus.

The episode was filmed months ago, with the star saying her symptoms included vomiting and headaches.

She said: ‘I just found out that I do have corona, I have been in my room … it was really bad for a couple of days, vomiting and shaking and hot and cold.

‘I suffer from migraines but this was the craziest headache, I wouldn’t say it was a migraine.

‘The coughing – my chest would burn when I coughed. My throat is still not fully recovered clearly, let me tell you that sh** is real but we are all going to get through this.

‘I pray if we follow orders and listen we’re all going to be OK.’

The 63-year-old actor has revealed he recently recorded his small role for an upcoming episode of the long-running cartoon comedy.

‘It was extremely enjoyable, working with Dan Castellaneta who voices Homer Simpson.’

Stephen – who has previously starred in a string of popular comedy shows, including Blackadder and A Bit of Fry & Laurie – admitted to relishing the experience.

He shared: ‘That was just, again, like a marvellous moment.’

The actor recorded his cameo appearance from home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

He explained: ‘I’m very lucky, I do have a little … I wouldn’t call it a studio, that’s going a bit far, it’s a booth, an audio booth that works very well.

‘It’s got a proper mic and this magical thing called Source-Connect, which is like going down the line so you can record in real time with studios around the world.’

Stephen also hailed the talents of the show’s cast, including Harry Shearer and Nancy Cartwright.

He said: ‘It’s just so extraordinary. It’s particularly wonderful because of the Zoom thing. When you see Dan’s face, and the scenes I had were with him as Homer and with him as Abe, his father, Gramps.

‘And to see him just moving from one to the other, his face alters slightly as well, and the voices, it’s miraculous.

‘They’re lovely people. And Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith as well, who play Bart and Lisa … that’s so strange because, you know, it’s a different gender in the case of Nancy and Bart Simpson, and it’s perfect.

‘You just watch the voice coming out of her and it’s a miracle.’

jodie turner smith to play anne boleyn in channel 5 drama series

Jodie Turner-Smith has landed the role of Queen Anne Boleyn in a new Channel 5 drama series.

The British actress, 34, is to play the second wife of English King Henry VIII – whom he infamously had beheaded – in the convention-defying three-part psychological thriller, which is set to give a feminist insight into the historical figure’s life.

Jodie described Queen Anne Boleyn as ‘formidable and fierce’ as she spoke about her decision to take on the role.

Anne, mother of Elizabeth I, was executed in 1536 at the Tower of London after falling out of favour with the Tudor king and losing a battle at court with enemies such as Thomas Cromwell.

The mini-series, written by Eve Hedderwick Turner, is being produced by Fable Pictures (who created Stan & Ollie) and will air on Channel 5 in due course.

Speaking about taking on the role, Jodie said: ‘Delving deeper into Anne Boleyn’s immense strengths while examining her fatal weaknesses and vulnerabilities, Eve’s scripts immediately captured my imagination.

‘The legend of this formidable queen and fierce mother will be seen as a deeply human story that is still so relevant for today,’ Turner-Smith said.

In a statement, Channel 5 said: ‘The drama will explore the final months of Anne Boleyn’s life from the eponymous queen’s perspective.

‘The psychological drama follows her as she struggles to survive, to secure a future for her daughter, and to challenge the powerful patriarchy closing in around her.’

Henry VIII’s love for Anne changed the course of English history: he split with the Catholic Church in 1533 to marry her after divorcing Catherine of Aragon.

The day after Anne’s beheading, Henry married Jane Seymour.

News of Jodie’s new role comes after five months after she welcomed her daughter, Janie, with Fringe actor husband Joshua Jackson, 42.

In the October issue of Vogue, the British model and actress confirmed child’s name for the first time in print, and reflected on what it’s been like to parent a newborn in the midst of the pandemic.

‘I had to learn how to breastfeed and how to be a mum—it really worked out for my baby,’ Turner-Smith said of the past few months during lockdown with her baby and husband.

The article reported that after giving birth in April, Jodie’s mother Hilda came to stay with them for three months amid the pandemic, and while protests began erupting around the world in the fight of social justice and racial equality.

The Queen & Slim star reflected that it was a ‘comfort’ to have both her mother and husband with her and the baby during that time, without the outside pressures of work and amid a time of change and upheaval.

‘It doesn’t make sense that we still have to be screaming to the world that our lives matter. It doesn’t make sense that Black people are being senselessly mowed down by the police,’ Jodie said, expressing her feelings on the Black Lives Matter movement.

‘It doesn’t make sense, this country’s response to the global pandemic,’ she went on. ‘It doesn’t make sense that so many people are unemployed, and the government is bailing out corporations.

‘But what did make sense, inside of that, was the love of my family,’ she concluded.
