‘I feel like [body image] has been my biggest hurdle in life and something that I’ve focused on a lot. Which I know I shouldn’t, but I’ve always been very hard on myself and self-critical,’ Skye explained when asked about her transformation.

‘I know it’s normal for people to be like that, but I was pretty extreme. I used to wear a hat in class [at school] because I was worried about my eye bags. I had so many insecurities, not the normal amount a child my age should have.

‘I was always very self-conscious of my weight, insecure about my eye bags, my skin, how light I was and my hair.’

‘I tried to cover up as much of my face as possible with a hat, and lots of makeup. I still hated myself. I hated my teeth, my freckles and my nose. I never learned to accept my nose and went and had plastic surgery.’

Despite going under the knife to change the things she didn’t like about herself, Skye said she was still unhappy with the way she looks.

‘I still have insecurities, I’m still really hard on myself, and yeah, I probably need counselling. It’s bad to be like that,’ she added.

Skye’s first cosmetic procedure was a breast augmentation in Bangkok in 2015, aged 22.

She flew to Thailand to get her surgery at a lower price, however the surgeon left her with a botched ‘bubble boob’. She later spent $28,000 on corrective surgery.

‘I actually used to get teased for having big boobs, because I developed at a really young age,’ Skye said of her breasts in her YouTube video.

The TOWIE star had flown out to Mykonos with her personal trainer pal Charlie King to help heal her broken heart following her split from Arg, 32, in July.

Gemma ended her relationship with Arg after she revealed a string of abusive messages, purportedly sent to her by the TV personality prior to their split.

Elsewhere, her ex James seemed to be moving on from their split by partying with close friends in Marbella.

Meanwhile Gemma, who has been vocal about her use of controversial £250 SkinnyJabs, has shared a number of bikini snaps from her Greek holiday amid her weight loss.

The Diva Forever star has reportedly booked a boob job because her ‘body is getting smaller’.

She told The Sun: ‘I can’t wait to get rid of these boobs, they’re massive and look ridiculous. I have never looked better than I do now and I’ve never felt so good.’

While admitting it tends to be the ‘norm’ to opt for larger breasts when booking cosmetic procedures, Gemma insisted that she wants a her natural boobs reduced.

She added: ‘I never have wanted surgery. But as my body is getting smaller, I feel like I am falling over on top and I just want them gone.’

He has been playing DS Steve Arnott for nearly a decade.

And Line of Duty star Martin Compston said he is desperate to return to the show so he can get a much-needed haircut.

The actor, 36, told the One Show on Monday he also wants to shed some lockdown weight before taking to the role again.

He said: ‘Well, I’m in dire need of a haircut and I’ve also got a few lockdown pounds I need to lose before we get back.

‘We’ve got a definite date that we’re working towards but there’s no point announcing it because the situation’s so fluid, and it can change daily, so hopefully we can get it done before Christmas.’

The Scottish star said the new pandemic filming measures will make things on set ‘completely different’ but he is eager to start again.

Discussing necessary alterations in order to keep the film studio coronavirus-safe, he explained: ‘I think there will be changes.

‘I mean there’s going to massive changes off camera just because of the protocols and the social distancing, how many people can be on set, no congregating, people off-camera wearing masks. It’s going to be a completely different feel.

Martin also teased storylines for the upcoming sixth series, which saw filming halted in March because of Covid-19, as he insisted that ‘the scripts are so good!’

He said: ‘In terms of the changes… we really wouldn’t want to compromise the scripts, the scripts are so good, and people are so loyal to the show, there would be no point coming back if we’re going to compromise quality.’

The show’s writers are notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to storylines, and so when quizzed about whether there is, as rumoured, a ‘massive bombshell’ at the end of episode four, Martin teased: ‘Well there’s a few before that as well…

‘But just because I don’t have script five, there’s a big, big question at the end of [episode] four.’

When asked, Martin confessed that he’s not watched any of the Line Of Duty re-runs which are currently being aired on BBC at the moment.

He revealed: ‘Well no, because I have a fear of those woolly cardigans that Jed put me in for the first series. No, it’s hard watching yourself back, and for me it’s the fear…

‘Because there was a big fear of going into such a high profile job, and doing a different accent and being up against these wonderful actors, so it would be hard to watch it back.

‘But I have some great memories of it, I’ve never laughed so much on a job as I did on series one.

‘We were a very close bunch very quickly and had some great nights out, but in terms of filming it’s being about ten years now so it’s been a long time.’

Earlier this month Line of Duty showrunner Jed Mercurio revealed bosses are hoping that series six will be wrapped by the end of this year.

The acclaimed writer revealed that BBC bosses are currently working to get production back up and running again, with the hope that a sixth series could air in 2021.

Filming for Line of Duty was suspended back in March at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, with fans eagerly awaiting the next series as they hope to finally learn the identity of the elusive ‘H.’

rita ora is accused of blackfishing and cultural appropriation

Rita Ora has been accused of ‘blackfishing’ by Twitter users who discovered her Albanian roots in a social media storm on Monday.

Despite the Hot Right Now hitmaker, 29, frequently discussing her Albanian heritage, her family’s escape from the war-torn area and life as a refugee in London, enraged critics still lashed out at the star for her alleged cultural appropriation.

The tweet that sparked the entire debate garnered a huge 109.4k likes in just two days, with the fuming message accompanied with images of Rita donning ‘appropriating’ hairstyles such as box braids and an afro.

Rita and her family fled Albania in 1991, during the decade-long war in the country, where thousands of people were killed and more than one million people – including the Oras – were forced to escape to safety.

In April, Rita discussed her experience as a refugee after ‘escaping persecution’ as a child in Albania, with her parents and sister Elena.

Rita visits Albania – formally Yugoslavia- whenever she can with her family and proudly owns the traditional dress and knows their dances.

In 2016, during an appearance on Wendy Williams’ show, the host said: ‘I thought you were half-Black and half-white, or something like that, to which Rita replied: ‘Everybody usually does. I might as well be. But no, I’m Albanian.’

Despite these factors, a Twitter user wrote on Monday: ‘Finding out rita ora isn’t black at all and both of her parents are white albanians is so trippy…

‘The girls BEEN blackfishing… like the girl isn’t black in the slightest this is freaking me out. yt [slang for Whitey] women really slip into black personas so easily…

‘if y’all knew she wasn’t mixed then good for you but don’t gaslight us like were delusional and randomly assumed she was black’.

The initial tweet saw the eye-popping number of likes, as well as 22.4k retweets and comments in the two day span.

In response to the original message, a follower penned: ‘And she was pretty vocal about it as well because imo she was getting tired of everyone thinking she had some black in her when she was just Albanian.’

In support of the message, tweeters penned: ‘We’ve been blackfished… rita ora not being black …. so she’s been blackfishing and culture appropriating this whole time… Whatttttt???!????? I thought she was mixed’

Sharing a series of images of Rita donning different hairstyles, another confused tweeter wrote: ‘Your telling me this woman not at least mixed?????????’

Blackfishing is a term used to describe a person accused of pretending to be black on social media by using make-up, hair products  and styles to change their appearance.

Way back when: Additionally, in 2016, during an appearance on Wendy Williams' show, the host said: 'I thought you were half-Black and half-white, or something like that, to which Rita replied: 'Everybody usually does. I might as well be. But no, I'm Albanian'

Despite the influx of confusion and criticism, others were keen to point out that Rita had always been very vocal about her race and background.

One fan jumped to her defense by sharing a montage of videos in which she discusses her Kosovan background.

Another defender wrote: ‘But she was on the Wendy show talking about how she’s albania she was on the radio speaking Albanian she was on the news being interviewed about kosov SHE LITERALLY HAS A SONGGGGGGGG IN KOSOVVVVV’

‘She’s said she was white though numerous times.’
