the batman starring robert pattinson pushed back to 2022 as warner bros gives 2021 slot to dune

Hollywood studios are shaking up their release schedules again as the COVID-19 pandemic continues and movie theaters close.

On Monday night, Warner Bros. announced that its highly anticipated film The Batman starring Robert Pattinson won’t now make an appearance until 2022.

The Batman had been scheduled to premiere on October 1, 2021, but has now been put back until March 2, 2022.

Production on the comic book franchise reboot directed by Matt Reeves was halted in March due to the coronavirus and then, having resumed, was shut down again in early September after Pattinson reportedly tested positive for the virus.

Warner Bros’ cited the production delays as the reason for the changes, Variety reported.

Warner Bros. has also delayed the releases of several other movies including The Flash and Shazam 2.

The studio is now moving the Denis Villeneuve remake of sci-fi classic Dune starring Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya to October 1, 2021, to fill the slot left vacant by The Batman.

It is also moving up the release of Matrix 4, starring Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, from April 2022 to December 22, 2021.

Meanwhile, Sony Pictures announced Monday that the Milla Jovovich fantasy thriller Monster Hunter is being moved forward four months from April 23, 2021, to this December 30.

The film is written and directed by Jovovich’s husband Paul W. S. Anderson and is loosely based on the Capcom video game series of the same name.

Not helping studio release schedules is the decision announced Monday that Regal Cinemas in North America and Cineworld in the UK are shuttering theatres due to the pandemic.

Cineworld chiefs blamed the decision to shut down venues on the postponement of big budget films, specifically the James Bond movie No Time To Die which had been expected to bow in November and is now slated for an April opening.

It follows the lacklustre performance at the US box office by Christopher Nolan’s tentpole Tenet which struggled as many screens, especially in New York and Los Angeles remain closed.

‘[This must be] fake news,’ another fan agreed.

Tim himself has admitted he’s often mistaken for someone much younger, saying: ‘No one believes it until they see the drivers licence!’

Tim and Leanne, 30, made their debut on Gogglebox last year.

During the emotionally charged season premiere, Tim broke down in tears over a family tragedy that changed his life forever.

While watching celebrity chef Kylie Kwong speak about losing her baby in an interview with Anh Do, Tim revealed he’d been through a similar situation.

During an episode of Anh’s Brush with Fame, Kylie revealed she and her wife, Nell, had lost their son Lucky in 2012 after he was born premature.

She admitted she’d ‘cried for 10 hours straight’ after Nell was rushed to hospital and they were told their son would not survive.

Kylie’s heartbreaking story resonated with Tim, who broke down and said: ‘I went through something just as hard.

‘I was a father… I had the high, I’d been told that it was successful. It is the most heart-wrenching thing I’ve ever had to go through.’

According to news.com.au, Tim and his longtime friend had decided in 2018 to have a baby and co-parent together.

But they were devastated when their surrogate lost the baby, shortly before he was set to announce the news to his family.

‘Thank you for your ongoing love,’ the Untouched hit-maker concluded the emotional upload.

Jessica announced her engagement to American musician Kai just shy of one year ago on 31 October, 2019.

Kai proposed at a luxurious resort in Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California, with Australian-born singer-songwriter Jessica sharing the exciting news with her legions of followers on Instagram at the time.

In July, Jessica spoke about how their physical separation amid the global coronavirus pandemic had impacted their relationship.

‘Even though we are engaged, we won’t be able to see each other until the borders are open again because of the government restrictions,’ she explained, but confirmed: ‘we are doing amazing and I’ve got the family through all of this.’

In August, Kai shared a loving tribute to Jessica amid their long-distance engagement: ‘Its been almost 6 months, 3 travel applications, hundreds of FaceTimes, and thousands of texts since. Though the times have been tough and trying, there is no one I appreciate, love and admire more in these times than you.’

However, their relationship appeared to weaken over the past few weeks, with eagle-eyed fans noticing less mentions by the couple, and their photos being deleted.

Prior to her romance with Kai, Jessica dated Australian actress and DJ, Ruby Rose.

Potentially keeping her busy amid the breakup, Jessica and twin sister Lisa have been filming Channel Seven’s reboot of The Celebrity Apprentice in Sydney.

The pop duo have also been attending sexy pole dancing classes and sharing videos of their routines online.

Kai has yet to address the split on social media.

adele faces criticism from saturday night live fans

Some Saturday Night Live viewers were left less than impressed with a sketch featuring Adele that poked fun at sex tourism in Africa.

The singer, 32, hosted the most recent episode of the sketch show and received praise for her comedic skills.

However, some were unhappy with a sketch that made fun of wealthy westerners travelling to Africa for no-strings fun, with Adele and SNL castmember Kate McKinnon portraying women advertising ‘holidays’ in Africa.

In the skit, the pair front an ad for the Tourism Board of Africa encouraging women to visit the continent for its natural beauty while also hinting at more X-rated activities they could do.

Dressed in a blue dress and wearing a large blonde wig, Adele walks toward the camera alongside Kate and says: ‘Sun, breeze, oceans, mountains, in beautiful Africa.’

As Kate says: ‘witness the wonder, the escape, the story,’ a shirtless black man walks behind them linking arms with a white woman.

Adele continues: ‘The sandy beaches. The massive bamboo.’

Kate then says: ‘The tribesman,’ which makes Adele lose control as she struggles to stifle her laughter while carrying on with the scene.

The pair are then joined by a third woman, Heidi Gardner, who says she travelled to the continent after divorcing her husband.

Adele holds back a giggle as she says: ‘I found a deep, deep connection,’ to which Heidi replies: ‘You can feel it in your stomach.’

Some viewers took to social media to react to the clip and hit out at the show for ‘fetishising’ black men.

Another added: ‘This was NOT it. Downright offensive’.

According to The Sun, another said: ‘I was actually enjoying it until the comments and the black men carrying white women around.. actually felt a bit sick and couldn’t enjoy the rest and I adore Adele but I wish she hadn’t taken part in this skit.’

Meanwhile, another user said: ‘Adele looks great for sure but the Africa skit was in poor taste tbh!’

However, others said they enjoyed the segment with one person referring to it as the ‘best skit’ while another said: ‘This was absolutely hilarious. Loved it.’

It comes after Adele was accused of cultural appropriation for donning a Jamaican flag bikini top to mark the cancelled Notting Hill Carnival.

In a picture shared to her Instagram in August, the songstress, posing in the garden of her $9.5million Beverly Hills home, wore her hair in Bantu knots leading some to slam the choice as ‘insensitive’.

Adele received backlash with many suggesting she was profiting off black culture with her choice of outfit and hairstyle.

However, she was defended by celebrities including Naomi Campbell and Alexandra Burke while others said Adele was surrounded by Jamaican culture while growing up in Tottenham, and has always been a supporter of the Notting Hill Carnival.
