It’s crunch time on The Voice Australia and on Monday night, Boy George and Delta Goodrem picked the two contestants they’re taking forward to the semi-finals.

Boy George had a surprise pick in Siala Robson – last week, the 18-year-old got halfway through singing David Bowie‘s Fame 90, but forgot the lyrics.

However Siala bounced back this week with a stunning original track – Emotional Criminal – which left Delta Goodrem gushing that the teen could be a world star.

Boy George told the young singer of his choice: ‘You represent individuality. For me star is someone you cannot separate any part of. They are just a totality.

‘And you come with that. And if you learn not to let your mistakes get in the way you could become a reckoning force.’

Next, Boy George picked Masha Mnjoyan, who had performed the Tina Arena classic Chains.

Masha, who won The Voice Armenia in 2013, looked absolutely shocked and became tearful when she was chosen to go into the semi-finals.

‘You need to stop being surprised. With all your experience, having won The Voice Armenia, you are still having am issue accepting who you are, where you are, and what this could be,’ the British singer told her.

‘This is a moment for you to really take some ownership of what you have achieved. You are on the voice in Australia, the biggest show in Australia, and you are now heading to the finals.’

Director M. Night Shyamalan served up another surprise for his fans on Saturday by revealing the title and poster artwork for his upcoming movie Old on social media.

The 50-year-old thriller filmmaker also announced that he had started shooting the secretive movie with a photo of himself on set.

So far, little is known about the project, though Gael Garcia Bernal, Eliza Scanlen and Phantom Thread’s Vicky Krieps are among the actors announced to star in it.

Shyamalan sounded overjoyed to finally be working on his next big project.

‘Feels like a miracle that I am standing here shooting the first shot of my new film. It’s called Old,’ he wrote on his social media accounts.

The occasional actor’s photo showed him on top of a hill in a gray shirt and sporting shaggy hair as his crew set up a shot behind him.

He held up the slate board, which confirmed the movie’s name and helps to maintain continuity when it’s time to edit the footage.

Shyamalan and all is crew appeared to be wearing masks, and the actors likely had to quarantine in advance in accordance with new safety procedures.

It was previously reported that his new film would be another thriller, and the chilling poster design confirms as much.

The stylish and white artwork features an extreme closeup of what at first appears to be an hourglass with sand pooling at the bottom.

But a closer look reveals that the sand is compromised of human bodies plummeting in contorted positions.

‘It’s only a matter of time,’ reads the tagline, while the movie is described as ‘A new trip from writer/director M. Night Shyamalan.’

The initial casting announcement for the movie featured an all-star slate of actors including Gael Garcia Bernal, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Vicky Krieps, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Ken Leung.

Deadline reported last month that Rufus Sewell, Embeth Davidtz and Emun Elliott were also joining the already stacked cast.

As is typical with a Shyamalan production, little is known about the plot, and it’s unclear if this movie will be connected to his earlier works, such as his trilogy of Unbreakable (2000), Split (2016) and Glass (2019).

Despite a lack of official details, the movie is based on the French graphic novel Sandcastle, written by Pierre Oscar Levy and with artwork by Frederik Peeters, according to Collider

The outlet reported that Shyamalan received a copy of the comic book as a Father’s Day gift, and he was so taken by it that he purchased the rights to use as a starting point for his film.

The film allegedly begins with the discovery of a dead body on a beach, which leads to disturbing realizations that something is amiss with the beach.

Preparation: Shyamalan hinted at the graphic novel's beach location with a photo of himself scouting locations at a beach on September 17

Shyamalan has previously posted a photo of himself that featured Sandcastle in the background, and he posted an Instagram selfie on September 17 that showed him at a tropical beach resort.

‘Me tech scouting my new feature film. We are a little over a week away from shooting. Feel lucky to be telling stories again,’ he captioned it.

Following a string of poorly received thrillers and sci-fi films in the late 2000s and early 2010s, Shyamalan returned to relevance with the horror film The Visit, which earned $98.5 million against a paltry $5 million budget.

He followed it up with the critically acclaimed box office hit Split, which starred James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy.

The film was part of the same universe as his earlier thriller Unbreakable, and that films stars Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson joined McAvoy and Taylor-Joy in last year’s Glass, the conclusion to the trilogy.

Dressing up for his blushing bride, Miles sported a black crew neck sweater and a pair of dark slacks that he wore with dressy black sneakers.

The Spectacular Now actor left his boyish locks loosely styled, wearing a face mask for protection as he and Keleigh walked from their car to the restaurant.

His model wife put her cleavage on display in a sleeveless black dress that flared out and fell right below her knees.

Recently the couple returned from a breathtaking vacation on the island of Bora Bora.

Celebrating one year of marriage on September 1, the pair fled Los Angeles to enjoy a seaside vacation at the Four Seasons hotel.

In photos from the trip, the pair were seen indulging in island bliss as they swam in turquoise water, took scenic boat rides and jet skied.

The two very much dressed the part, opting for a tropical wardrobe as they enjoyed the unforgettable views and frozen cocktails.

Despite the COVD lockdown, the two have traveled a couple times even taking a local trip down to Coronado in San Diego to get away.

The couple first met in 2013 at a Grammys after-party and got engaged four years later while on a South African safari.

The two had a destination wedding in Hawaii with their friends and family, and had a raucous party that was DJ’d by Kygo.

In the debut episode of The Search Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall were on the hunt for a boyband, with them auditioning hopeful potentials.

However as well as loving the performances, many viewers praised the programme for being ‘much more personal than other talent shows’ adding the band’s individual personalities made it all the better.

Fans were dazzled by the show, which was pre-recorded before the COVID-19 lockdown, with dozens praising Little Mix for adding their own twist on the already established talent TV genre.

One wrote: ‘You were contestants yourself and you really have your own talent show now helping other people live their dreams. Definitely the best people <3’

And someone else added: ‘A talent show where the acts are constructively critiqued from a potion of actual genuine experience. Wonderful. And Little Mix.’

‘This show is so much more personal than all the other talent shows out there, Little Mix are really the standard for everything in this industry,’ wrote a third fan.

However for some the excitement was too much with music lovers saying they had got ’emotional’ watching the girls on the show and were feeling ‘so proud’.

Overall there will be six categories with girl dance, girl vocal, mixed, vocal and instrument, as well as rap and R&B, coming up in other episodes.

During Saturday’s episode Little Mix also showed they’re well suited to choosing talent by giving lots of constructive criticism.

They also had viewers laughing inbetween the auditions as they joked around and showed just how close they’ve become since their own win of the X Factor.

After sending Adam through to the band room the girls started smelling themselves just in case there was anything off putting about them.

Fans were also entertained by the girls jokes about the boys flirting with Jade and funny one liners.

Although having a successful launch on Saturday, ahead of their show kicking off Jade revealed that things didn’t always go smoothly during the process.

The singer admitted that she ‘went off in a huff a couple of times’ after disagreeing with her bandmates while filming Little Mix: The Search.

She said things did get tense between herself, Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jesy, at times as they searched for a band to join them on tour.

While Jesy said she wasn’t surprised they ‘didn’t see eye to eye’, Jade told New! Magazine: ‘Maybe I went off in a huff a couple of times’.
