Ulrika Jonsson has shared her heartbreak as her beloved rescue dog Leo starts his treatment for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia.

The TV star gave her 122k Instagram followers an update on Monday after revealing a week ago that her three-year-old bulldog had been diagnosed with cancer.

Sharing a photo of Leo’s medication she had to adminster, an emotional Ulrika told her fans that she was ‘questioning everything.’

‘Today my boy Leo started chemo,’ she wrote. ‘I’ve known it was coming but disassociated for various reasons.’

The star went on to share some facts about her dog, revealing he’s just three-years-old and his diagnosis is similar to her late dog Dexter who died at the age of four three years ago.

‘I already lost Dexter at the age of 4 – the treatment that was supposed to save him, effectively killed him,’ she explained.

‘I can’t bear the thought of this sh*t show,’ Ulrika continued. ‘I know someone out there is suffering considerably worse shows of sh*t. But what are the chances that I face losing a second? Boy.’

‘My emotions are loaded. Weirdly woke up this morning in a good mood. When does that happen?’

‘And then when it came to administering the stuff, I was welling up; began to lose my nerve; questioned everything.’

She finished her post by thanking her followers for their support, writing: ‘Please don’t feel the need to comment – I know you guys care. I don’t want empathy. I want a cure. But I know there isn’t one for him and at some point a sh*t decision will need to be made.’

‘For now. Leo, my darling boy: love; good food and CBD will be at your disposal.’

Leo has his own Instagram account with over a 1000 fans, with the proud star regularly sharing snaps of her pooch.

She has also rescued fellow bulldogs Nessie and Fella, but sadly revealed over the summer that 10-year-old Fella has been diagnosed with dementia.

Ulrika was meant to be fostering Fella for just two weeks, but couldn’t bring herself to let him go and eventually adopted him permanently in 2019.

She revealed that he came to her with a ‘mouth full of tumours’ as well as a broken jaw, arthritis and testicular cancer.

‘Over time, I’ve learnt that he has dementia. He looks at me without recognition sometimes. Sits and stares at doors or barks at walls unprovoked,’ she wrote in Best magazine in August.

‘On walks, he can forget what is happening, and just stops, or turns around and insists on going in the opposite direction. He doesn’t always respond to my name – but still knows what a T-R-E-A-T is.’

The presenter’s latest heartbreak comes after she hit out at those who criticised her for sharing a naked selfie on Thursday, including her own children, as she claimed ‘my body, my rules.’

On Tuesday, the TV presenter shared a naked selfie hours after TV host John Leslie was found not guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at a Christmas party in 2008.

Detailing her decision to post the snap in her column for The Sun on Thursday, she said: ‘It was neither pre-planned nor especially well thought out. And it seems to have touched a nerve because the response was considerable.’

Ulrika explained that she didn’t post a more ‘explicit’ or ‘outrageous’ naked snap for the sake her children, though she was quick to point out that she didn’t care if they were concerned about the photo.

Addressing her four children, Cameron, 26, Bo, 20, Martha, 16, and Malcom, 12, she went on: ‘For the record, children, I honestly don’t care much for your embarrassment. My body, my rules.

‘The intention behind the post was not to offend, outrage, challenge or disturb. It was a note to myself – a reminder that for all that my body has endured, I now need to reclaim it and do something I’ve never really done before: Own it.’

Ulrika went on to say she felt ‘dispossessed’ when it came to her figure in the past as both puberty and the menopause hit her badly, and she also struggled with what to ‘expect or demand’ when she was intimate with a man.

She admitted to feeling ’embarrassed’ about showing her feelings with a member of the opposite sex and said she often felt she had to allow the man to take the control in a relationship, but now realises she ‘deserved ownership’ of her body.

Going on to discuss being sexually assaulted at the age of 19 by an unknown TV presenter who she met once, Ulrika lamented how at the time it was socially acceptable for a man to force themselves on their wife, meaning she believed she couldn’t stop the assault from happening to her.

In her naked selfie post, Ulrika wrote that she was ‘reclaiming her body’ but added: ‘reclaiming my mind is taking a bit more time.’

The post came hours after Leslie was cleared and Ulrika did not reference him at all.  He was falsely accused of raping Ulrika in 2002 – although not by the TV star.

Ex Blue Peter presenter John was found not guilty by a jury over claims he grabbed a woman’s breasts at a Christmas party in central London on December 5, 2008.

The woman said she came forward after being ‘inspired’ by the MeToo movement, but Leslie was cleared of sexual assault by a jury of nine men and three women after just 23 minutes deliberation.

Before the trial, Leslie had already been investigated an astonishing number of times over separate sexual assault allegations made to police since 2002, when he was falsely accused of raping Ulrika, who he dated for a few months.

Ulrika has never made any complaint to police. In her 2002 autobiography, Honest, Ulrika revealed she had been date raped by an unnamed TV presenter aged 19, she said she had only met the man one time.

John claimed he asked Ulrika to publicly say he was not her attacker, but she allegedly said she wouldn’t.

Leslie was falsely accused of raping Ulrika by the TV presenter Matthew Wright on air – he later apologised, saying he had given his name in error.

Other women have publicly accused John of similar seedy behaviour, while he has been the subject of salacious revelations about his sex life (including his starring role in a threesome sex tape with Abi Titmuss) and his use of cocaine.

A string of former Blue Peter presenters rallied around Leslie at his trial, with Anthea Turner, Diane Louise Jordan and Yvette Fielding taking to the stand to call him a ‘gentleman’ and deny he was ever inappropriate towards women.

Leslie has never been found guilty of any offence, but his own barrister claimed he had become a ‘notorious’ and a ‘nobody’ because of the repeated claims against him.

The former star, who once earned £350,000 a year, was last known to be living in an Edinburgh bungalow and doing DJ jobs to earn extra money.

Ulrika discussed her rape ordeal with Piers Morgan in 2009 and said her attacker suggested they go to the cinema after he had assaulted her.

She said: ‘I felt pain, physical pain. I just lay there. And he said “We should go to the cinema”.

‘I said “I can’t go”. I don’t remember what I said but I stayed and he left. I actually don’t think he realised what he’d done.’

She said of the incident: ‘I felt a bit foolish. I think that was the overwhelming feeling. I felt I’d allowed myself into a situation which I shouldn’t have. I blamed myself.’

Ulrika said the man, who was known to her, came to her hotel room to pick her up for a date.

She said: ‘He was charming and very nice and then things started to happen very quickly. He got very amorous and I panicked because to me that was not what I was expecting.

‘I panicked to the extent my voice wasn’t working – I couldn’t get anything out. I felt like I was screaming and saying “No, no, no!” I probably was at the beginning.’

The former weathergirl said she was not sexually experienced at the time.

Fighting back tears, she said: ‘One of the great weaknesses I’ve had is this inability to assert myself properly.

‘I’d only been sexually active for about a year and a half so this was quite an overwhelming experience.’

‘I don’t think at that stage there was this definition of a ‘date rape’ – of knowing somebody, of trusting somebody and somebody not understanding when you say no.’

However, Ulrika said the full horror of the violation struck her only when she was forced to seek medical treatment.

‘The fact that I ended up in hospital because it was not consensual meant that this was clearly an aggressive act,’ she said.

She admitted she held back from calling the police because she blamed herself.

In August 2003 Leslie said: ‘I was not damned by anything Ulrika said – I was damned by her silence.

‘With one simple statement she could have resolved this one way or another. If she had said “John Leslie did not rape me,” that would have put an end to it. If she had said “John Leslie did rape me,” I I could have defended myself.

‘As human beings, what separates us from animals is a core sense of decency for other people and for her not to say anything at that stage was inhuman and something I can never forgive her for.

‘Through lawyers, I asked her to please make some sort of clarification – not to get me off the hook but just to let me know exactly what I was dealing with.

‘Instead, she took the third way – she said nothing. Why, why, why?’

In the interview, Ulrika admitted it was a “bad mistake” to reveal the attacker was a TV presenter.

She said: ‘The point was the act of violence against me and not who it was that did it. If I had wanted that person’s name to come out, I’d have done something about it when it happened.’

She admitted to some sympathy for Leslie, whose career was ruined. Ulrika said: ‘I’ve never commented about him but what I would say is trial by media is awful.’

On Thursday, Ulrika sparked concern among fans after admitting she felt ‘lonely for the very first time in my entire life’ following an ‘intensely bad’ day.

She took to Instagram and shared a sombre selfie in the dark as she told her followers about her low mood.

She wrote: ‘Started yesterday by cleaning my teeth with Nivea, so kinda knew what kinda day lay ahead. Intense. Intensely bad. And some good.

‘Hygienist couldn’t use her machines so reverted to a pestle and mortar and I still managed a 10 min kip in her chair.

‘Lots of pressure from deadlines. Felt a bit overwhelmed but soldiered on. Weather grim. Grimmer than Grimsby (which is gorge btw).

‘Actually felt lonely for the very first time in my entire life yesterday. Happy alone but never lonely.

‘Saved by a phone call from a gobby friend who made me laugh, as always. #thelonelinessofthefreelancewriter’.

Melanie Sykes has seemingly flouted strict COVID-19 rules by flying to Italy to see her toyboy lover and not quarantining on her return to London.

Melanie, 50, was snapped in Venice visiting gondolier Riccardo Simionato, 23, pictured fawning all over him in very public displays of affection.

She was seen with the Italian on November 21, before flying home to the UK and parading around London on November 24.

Melanie shared photos of herself at The May Fair Hotel, inside on a bed, and strutting around on the street.

The presenter claimed to be filming at the posh venue, crediting her make-up artist and clothing brand Reiss for her look.

She later posted some evening snaps of her views across Venice from the week before, captioning these: ‘Hello everyone, been busy all day but just wanted to say good evening and share some beautiful pics of Venice from a week ago.

‘These shots were taken on the roof of the T Fondaco Dei Tedeschi!’

One shrewd follower replied to her in the comments, asking: ‘If you were there a week ago, how come you’re not self isolating?’

According to the government’s protocols, this is against the rules – and Melanie is eligible for a £1000 fine.

It is understood she was filming for ITN at the hotel. MailOnline has approached her rep – as well as ITN and the May Fair – for comment.

With England in its last week of a second lockdown, only essential travel is permitted, and citizens are being told to stay at home.

Those that must travel = including British nationals – then have to self-isolate for a strict 14-day period.

Exceptions are only made for those traveling from the Common Travel Area – Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man – or countries in travel corridors with the UK.

Italy was removed from travel corridor list on October 18 – and this status remains.

Those in quarantine are not permitted to use taxis or public transport, go to work or use public areas, host visitors at their homes [unless for essential support] or go out to buy supplies unless crucial.

In a comment provided to The Sun, Tory MP Andrew Bridgen said: ‘It’s a blatant disregard of the rules and a complete lack of respect for other people’s wellbeing.’

With COVID-19 expert Dr Bharat Pankhania adding: ‘Northern Italy has been hit severely and that’s why we have these rules.’

According to the Department For Transport, the only travelers who are exempt from restrictions are those who must travel for work once a week and hold a season ticket. It is presumed that Melanie does not.

COVID-19: Self-isolation rules when travelling to the UK

When you arrive in the UK, you must travel directly to the place you are staying and not leave until 14 days have passed since you were last in a non-exempt country, territory or island. This is known as ‘self-isolating’.

The 14-day period starts is counted from the day after you leave a non-exempt country, or territory or island. A non-exempt country, or territory or island is any country, or territory or island that is not on the travel corridors list.

This is because it can take up to 14 days for coronavirus symptoms to appear. If you’re travelling to the UK for less than 14 days, you will be expected to self-isolate for the length of your stay, but you can travel directly to your place of departure.

You may not have to self-isolate for 14 days if you arrive from a country, territory or island on the travel corridors list. You should check the list before you travel.

You will need to self-isolate if you have visited or made a transit stop in a country, territory or island that is not on the travel corridors list within the 14 days before you arrive in the UK. The period of time you will need to self-isolate will depend on when you visited or made a transit stop in a non-exempt country, territory or island.

Before you travel to the UK from anywhere outside the Common Travel Area, you must provide your journey, contact details and the address where you will self-isolate. You will be able to complete the public health passenger locator form 48 hours before you arrive. You may be required to present these details on your arrival in England.

You may be refused permission to enter the UK (if you are not a British citizen), or fined if you do not to provide your contact details or do not self-isolate when required to do so.

In England, if you do not self-isolate, you can receive a fixed penalty notice of £1,000 for a first offence, increasing to £2,000 for any second offence. Further repeat offences will attract penalties of £4,000 and then £10,000 for each repeat offence.

If you do not provide an accurate passenger locator form – or do not update your passenger locator form in the limited circumstances permitted where you need to move from the accommodation where you’re self-isolating to another place to continue self-isolating – you can be fined up to £3,200.

Things got a little out of hand when New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian appeared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday.

Gladys, 50, was shocked to hear Cardi B’s sexually charged hit WAP ft. Megan Thee Stallion for the first time live on air – and even watched in horror as a KIIS FM staffer performed the song’s signature twerking dance in front of her.

At one point, the politician scolded host Kyle Sandilands when he read aloud some of the lyrics – which were censored so they could be played on air.

‘Oh please, can we just move on? I’m the Premier, for heaven’s sake,’ a frustrated Gladys said, after Kyle recited the lyrics.

Despite being pushed out of her comfort zone, she could be heard stifling a shocked laugh as the radio producer attempted the WAP dance.

‘That’s a hardcore song,’ co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson remarked, to which Kyle replied: ‘But all the kids love it… we have to play the clean version.’

‘I don’t know what it is? Does it have any swear words in it? All your staff are laughing, what are you doing?’ she said, giggling nervously.

But Cardi B hit back at her critics, telling The Kyle and Jackie O Show at the time that the lyrics were in fact ‘normal’ by hip hop standards.

‘The people that the song bothers are usually like conservatives or really religious, fake religious people,’ she said.

‘I grew up listening to this type of music, so to other people it might be strange and vulgar, but to me it’s almost like really normal.’

She also clarified that WAP was meant for adults, and shouldn’t be heard by children.
