zoe kravitz says michelle pfeiffer is really encouraging about her playing catwoman in the batman

Michelle Pfeiffer ‘encouraged’ Zoe Kravitz earlier this year, before she embarked on the role of Catwoman.

Zoe is playing the role of Gotham City burglar Selina Kyle in Matt Reeves’ upcoming take on the DC Comics superhero tale – which will star Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.

Speaking to Total Film magazine, Zoe, 31, revealed she consulted with the veteran actress, 62, who previously portrayed the character in Batman Returns.

‘I’ve met Michelle Pfeiffer several times, but we did talk about Catwoman when I saw her in January.

‘I told her I was nervous but she was really encouraging.

‘I want to make the character my own, although I want to respect her, so it felt important to acknowledge the amazing things she did with the iconic role.’

Zoe also recently revealed she had spent the last few months while filming was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic training hard for the movie.

She said: ‘So I mean, it’s not like the studio called and said, “Don’t get fat, b****!” But I had been training now for maybe four or five months and the first couple weeks that I self-quarantined, I remember texting the director, I texted Matt and I was like, “We might have to make the cat suit a few sizes bigger when this is over.”

‘So I quickly decided to get my s**t together and I’ve been working out virtually with my trainer David Higgins five days a week.

‘And it’s actually been really great because it’s been giving me some kind of structure because I do it at the same time and it also makes the weekends feel like a weekend because I don’t work out on the weekends and it gives me just, oh, it’s a different kind of day.

‘So it’s actually been really great just for my mental health.’

Tim Burton’s 1992 sequel Batman Returns earned $266.8M at the box office and Michelle had previously expressed her delight that Zoe was taking on the role of the villainess.

‘It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale,’ The Batman director Matt Reeves told THR in January.

‘It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been.

‘I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.’

rebecca judd discusses her reverse parallel parking nightmare

It’s the driving manoeuvre dreaded by millions across the globe.

And Rebecca Judd has hilariously described her humiliation after her recent attempt at reverse parallel parking went horribly wrong.

Speaking on KIIS FM’s 3pm Pick-Up on Tuesday, the ‘mortified’ WAG revealed that she’d held up traffic while attempting to navigate her vehicle correctly.

Rebecca, 37, explained: ‘Yesterday, I tried to reverse parallel park in front of a crowd and I’ve got, like, a big truck, and you got the people outside waiting to get their coffees.

‘Then I’m trying to pull into this tight little park, and it takes you a few attempts.’

Her co-host Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond asked: ‘How many times do you give it before you’re like, I’m not getting this?’

Rebecca sheepishly replied: ‘I usually give it about two [attempts]’.

Monty added: ‘I give it about three tries. There’s no excuse for us not to get it now because we have the beepers on the cars and the cameras everywhere.

‘But if there’s a car sitting behind you and you just can’t get it, it’s mortifying!’

Rebecca added: ‘Yeah, so you’re holding up traffic and you’ve also got an audience’.

The mother of four also referenced a funny meme she had seen recently, which she said perfectly explained how she felt about the disastrous parking situation.

‘It read, “Hate when I’m trying to parallel park, and there’s a line of cars waiting on the street behind me, and I realise I’ve done it all wrong, and I have to pull out and drive away as fast as I can to start a new life in a new city,”‘ she said.

It comes a day after Rebecca hinted at her conservative politics by praising Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

Speaking on her radio show on Monday, Rebecca explained that she thought Mr Morrison was doing ‘a very good job’ leading the country this year.

Furthermore, she  admitted that she was such a fan of the Liberal Party leader, 52, that she even follows him on Instagram, and was ‘influenced’ to buy products he posed with in pictures.

Rebecca said: ‘I think he’s done a very good job this year, and I follow him on Instagram, and I’m impressed by his curry making and his chicken coup building!

‘On the weekend, he posted a picture of an inflatable Santa riding a shark from Bunnings and I bought it straight away.

‘Well Tom and Darcy, my twins, are obsessed with sharks and we were talking about Christmas, and I saw that, and I’m like, done, sold!’

‘Yeah, like the man holding it is like your wet dream,’ Monty teased her.

‘No, he’s not!’ Rebecca vehemently denied.

While Rebecca sang the praises of Mr Morrison, she recently hit the headlines for blasting Victorian Labor Premier Daniel Andrews’ strict lockdown restrictions, which are set to be eased on Wednesday.

Victoria entered stage-four lockdown on August 2, attracting widespread controversy.

In a since-deleted post on Instagram Stories in early September, Bec admitted she was worried Melbourne’s lockdown would be extended.

She expressed her frustration towards Mr Andrews in the post, while simultaneously promoting a cardboard company.

‘@the_little_cardboard_co perfect for iso and upcoming school holidays as it seems Dictator Dan will be locking Victorians in our homes even longer,’ she wrote.

Bec later angered people when she shared a photo of herself wearing a ‘Free Melbourne’ T-shirt in a series of posts on Instagram Stories last Monday.

Irate fans branded the Channel Nine presenter ‘insensitive’, and claimed she hadn’t exactly been roughing it during the pandemic.

‘Imagine being so out of touch with other humans. Things are hard for small business, but they’ve mostly all handled this better than millionaire Bec Judd,’ tweeted one critic.

Sharing a picture of herself with her love, she wrote: ‘I cannot wait to marry this guy… finally!

‘First an unexpected but such a blessing baby button and then corona virus 2021 I’ll become Mrs. Button officially.’

The couple had first been due to tie the knot on July 6, 2019 but Brittny fell pregnant.

Posing for a selfie in a wide-brimmed straw hat with the green vines stretched out behind her, Hayek, 54, wrote on Instagram: ‘Although most of the fires are now under control, I can’t help but feel an immense sense of gratitude for all the first responders who came to the rescue of so many people, animals and properties.’
