Manchester United have been linked with a move to bring Idrissa Gueye back to the Premier League.

Reports in France suggest the former Aston Villa and Everton defensive midfielder could be on his way out of Paris Saint-Germain after completing just one season.

According to Le10Sport United could bid for the Senegal international this summer but will have to fend off competition from fellow admirers Wolves.

It is believed that United will open negotiations for his Ligue 1 exit after the Champions League finishes.

Should Gueye sign for United, it will be the third Premier League club he has played for in the last five years.

The 30-year-old signed for Aston Villa from Lille for £9m back in the summer of 2015 before moving on to Everton a year later following Villa’s relegation from the Premier League.

Gueye only signed for the Ligue 1 club last summer from Everton for a total of £30million

He went on to feature 108 times for The Toffees over the course of three seasons and was even named the club’s joint player of the year in 2018-19 along with Lucas Digne.

Such form caught the attention of PSG, convincing them to sign him for £30m last July.

The defensive midfielder has since played in 33 games in all competitions for PSG this season.

However, PSG sporting director Leonardo is said to be open to selling the midfielder for the right price.

West Ham ‘interested in taking Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger on loan’ as PSG also look to sign German

west ham interested in taking chelseas antonio rudiger on loan as psg also look to sign german

Antonio Rudiger could be offered a Premier League lifeline, with West Ham United reportedly interested in the German’s services on loan.

The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour at Chelsea and has been omitted from Frank Lampard’s last three squads against West Bromwich Albion, Barnsley and Liverpool.

And according to the Sun, West Ham have shown interest in taking Rudiger on a season-long loan as they look to shore up their defence.

Rudiger’s last appearance for the Blues came in the FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal in early August, when he was partly culpable for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s winner in a 2-1 defeat.

Despite his role in helping convince compatriots Kai Havertz and Timo Werner to join him at Stamford Bridge this summer, Rudiger appears to have reached the end of the road in SW6.

Chelsea have already received an offer from Paris Saint-Germain for the imposing centre back, with the French champions also looking to strike up a loan deal with an option to buy.

The Hammers had the fifth-worst defence in the Premier League last season and Rudiger would no doubt expect to start immediately as he eyes a spot in Joachim Low’s Germany squad for Euro 2020.

Furthermore, David Moyes will be desperate to bolster his defence after their poor start to the season, losing their opening two matches against Newcastle and Arsenal.

lyon chief warns arsenal they are way too far away from valuation of houssem aouar

Arsenal have been warned they will have to substantially increase their £30m offer for Lyon midfield maestro Houssem Aouar.

Aouar is valued at £54m and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said: ‘There will be very few departures, Arsenal are way too far away from his value.

‘Ware counting on him to have a great match against Lorient and to lead Lyon into the Champions League next year.’

And football.london are reporting that the Gunners will now significantly increase their offer for the player after seeing their initial bid rejected last week.

Aouar, a France Under 21 international, has spent his entire career to date at Lyon, making over 130 appearances for the club.

Arsenal have improved immensely under Arteta but they are certainly in need of a player who can create chances with regularity, especially with Mesut Ozil having been frozen out.

Arsenal have rebuffed approaches from Atletico Madrid and Torino to take Lucas Torreira on loan. Arsenal want to sell the midfielder and retain an interest in Atletico’s Thomas Partey.

charlie edwards beats kyle williams 99 91 over ten rounds as he starts new life as a bantamweight

Britain’s former world flyweight champion Charlie Edwards fled what he described as the ‘self-crucifying hell’ of his battle with the scales to start a new boxing life on Saturday night.

Edwards came dancing into Bethnal Green’s iconic York Hall as a rebooted bantamweight.

He defeated a willing Kyle Williams by a wide margin but it was not all sweetness and light for the baby-faced Edwards.

The speed was just as lightning despite him being two divisions heavier.

But the question of whether he has brought strength and power up with him remains to be answered if he is to realise his ambition of becoming a two-weight world champion next year.

Not only did his flurries of punches fail to have any significant impact on the gallant Williams but he was staggered three or four times by his limited opponent.

There was no arguing with referee Bob Williams as he declared Edwards a 99-91 winner over ten rounds.

That score was earned largely by his jab. But physically Edwards still has some growing to do if he is not to be picked off by world class bantamweights who have little to fear from his punches.
