FORMER Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is braced for more noisy neighbours after losing a planning battle.

He objected strongly to next door’s application to demolish a two-storey house and build a three-storey mansion.

Fergie’s lawyers sent a five-page opposition letter to planners.

He claimed his privacy would be affected by removal of trees which would also impact the character of the area.

He said the removal of trees was “likely to have a significant impact on the character of the area and the existing privacy standards afforded”.

Sir Alex and wife Cathy also warned that previous developments in the private road in Wilmslow, Cheshire, had also caused flooding problems and that the development was not in keeping with the rest of the houses in the area.

But planners decided to allow the scheme in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

A source said: “Fergie had a well documented problem with Manchester City during the final years of his time at Old Trafford – dubbing them ‘noisy neighbours’.

“Now he and wife Cathy are going to endure months of real noise as builders demolish a property and then build one in its place.

“Let’s hope he can keep his temper but I wouldn’t be surprised if they experience the hairdryer treatment at some point.”

Sir Alex, 78, labelled rivals Manchester City “noisy neighbours” in 2009.

He said at the time: “You just have to get on with your life, put your television on and turn it up a bit louder.”

On Bale’s transfer, Real’s 45-word statement said: “Real Madrid CF. and Tottenham Hotspur FC have agreed to the loan of Gareth Bale for next season, until 30 June, 2021.

“Our club wishes the best of luck to a player who is part of one of the most successful periods of our history.”

Whereas Madrid said following after Reguilon’s move: “Real Madrid CF and Tottenham Hotspur FC have agreed a deal for the transfer of Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon played just 22 matches for Los Blancos while Bale played more than 250 and won FOUR Champions Leagues.

Bale has joined Spurs on a season-long loan, with his Madrid contract expiring next summer, meaning he can make the move permanent on a free.

Reguilon on the other hand arrives in a £27million deal, with Manchester United also showing prior interest.

Bale scored 105 goals and added 68 assists for Madrid in just 251 games.

But he returns for his second spell in North London after being frozen out of Madrid’s squad.

Quoting his tweet from 2013 when he left Spurs, Bale announced on social media: “To all the Spurs fans, after 7 years, I’m back!”.

It is understood that Spurs will pay 50 per cent – with the LaLiga champions covering the other half.

AWESOME AUBA HERE

Martin Keown reckons Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can become an Arsenal legend after the striker finally signed a new contract this week.

And the club’s former centre-back shared his thoughts on what more the Emirates frontman can do to become a Gunners icon.

Keown told talkSPORT: “Aubameyang loves playing there [Arsenal] and he wants to be a legend in the future, so why not?

“He’s 31 years of age and he’s turned down Barcelona by the way to stay there. I think that tells you how much he loves the football club and what he’s looking to achieve.

“If they win the Premier League in the next three years then he certainly will become a legend if he plays a major part in that.”
