Southampton have made their first move of the transfer window by bringing in defneder Mohammed Salisu in a £10.9million deal from Real Valladolid according to reports.

The 21-year-old has penned a four-year-deal at St Mary’s after the Premier League side triggered his buyout clause.

Salisu has been an important player in a Valladolid defence that kept their heads above water in a battle against relegation this term by finishing 16th in LaLiga.

Having broken into the club’s first team from their youth set-up, Salisu has gone to impress by making 32 appearances in total this term.

The Ghanaian could be just the first of the defenders commiting his future to the club in the coming days.

Kyle Walker-Peters is also expected to arrive from Tottenham Hotspur in a move worth £12million after impressing on loan during the second half of the 2019-20 campaign.

Southampton will be unlikely to add any more new faces to their backline unless they are forced to sell.

Jannik Vestergaard has previously been a target for Leicester City, but there has been no further interest from the Foxes.

85. That is an absolute sucker punch for West Ham.

Saka finds Ceballos with an excellent ball that splits the West Ham defence.

Ceballos looks up and rolls the ball across the face of goal to the feet of Nketiah who taps into an empty net.

Huddersfield Town have sealed a deal on a loan move for Ajax starlet Carel Eiting.

The left-footed Dutch midfielder will wear the Terriers’ number 14 shirt this term.

And Carel, 22, was a sub in Ajax’s season opening win against Sparta Rotterdam.

Huddersfield head coach Carlos Corberan said: “He’s a midfielder who give us different options; he can play as a playmaker, in more attacking positions or as a mixed, box-to-box midfielder.”
