Emmerdale‘s Chris Bisson won The Great Christmas Bake Off which aired on Channel 4 on Tuesday night in a soap special.

The Jai Sharma actor, 49, beat out EastEnders actors Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler) and Dean Gaffney (Robbie Jackson) as well as fellow Emmerdale star Sheree Murphy (Tricia Dingle) and Coronation Street favourite Shobna Gulati (Sunita Alahan).

He impressed particularly with his Showstopper when the competitors had to make a biscuit scene depicting their favourite dramatic soap scene.

Chris made an incredible replica of the village’s iconic Woolpack pub which earned him a Paul Hollywood handshake.

For the Signature Challenge they had to make a yule log, with Sheree getting a Paul handshake too for her tiramisu themed roll- which left her delighted.

She joked that she would not wash her hand after the honour.

For the Technical Challenge they had to make four Christmas tree meringues which proved difficult as they weren’t told how long to bake them for.

Sheree came out on top after impressing with her flavours and design.

The special starred usual presenters Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond and judges Prue Leith and Paul.

Noel unfortunately fell ill for the second half of filming which meant Alison has to helm the show on her own for the Showstopper part of the episode.

Alison said how he had a ‘Christmas bug’ and had to go home.

It comes after Alison was branded the ‘best thing to ever happen to the Great British Bake Off‘ as she took a hilarious tumble during the normal series’ quarter finals last month.

The presenter, 49, fronts the show with Noel and during 1970s week Alison had a funny fall leaving viewers in stitches.

She was wandering around at the back of the tent when she sat on one of the empty benches and tried to do a leg spin saying she wanted to ‘add some happiness to the task’.

However she lost her balance and fell off the side landing on the floor as the bakers looked over in shock.

She couldn’t move due to her laughter and she rolled around on the floor and shouted: ‘Don’t come over here – leave me!’

Noel then joined her on the floor as he told her: ‘That is the best thing I’ve seen ever!!’

Viewers at home found the moment hilarious as they penned on X: ‘I love Alison Hammond so much – she’s so unserious #GBBO.’,

‘Alison Hammond is the best thing to happen to bake off and no one can change my mind, she’s so real #GBBO #bakeoff.’,

‘Alison Hammond falling off the kitchen counter, was TV gold lol #GBBO.’,

‘I’m still laughing at Alison Hammond throwing herself over the worktop!’,

‘Alison Hammond is definitely the best thing to happen to Bake Off.’,

‘Live, laugh, love Alison Hammond.’
