Billy Joel suffered a dramatic fall on stage nearly two months before ‘medical issues’ forced him to postpone his current tour.
In a statement posted Tuesday, the music icon, 75, revealed his tour has been rescheduled for the next four months after undergoing a recent surgery.
But nearly two months earlier Joel sparked concern after he tumbled to the floor during a February 22 show at the Mohegan Sun resort in Monteville, Connecticut.
The star was singing It’s Still Rock and Roll To Me when he began spinning his microphone stand.
As the song wrapped, Joel flung the equipment across the stage – but the motion ended up causing him to fall onto the floor.
Joel’s right arm jerked back before he dropped onto the floor.

While Joel’s latest announcement did not reveal what procedure he had undergone or what his health issues were, several social media users theorized his recent fall may have had something to do with his current medical plight.
‘Did this have anything to do with the fall he had a couple weeks ago?? Take care Billy!!’ one asked.
‘Did he break something when he took a spill on stage?’ another asked.
On Reddit, one posted: ‘I hope he’s ok. I wonder what happened,’ prompting one to respond suggesting that his recent fall may have contributed.
‘I was afraid it was related to the fall. Even though he played it off, I thought there might be more to it,’ the first poster said.
‘Hope Billy is all good (especially after he fell on stage recently),’ another weighed in.
Joel announced that his tour has been pushed back in a statement released on Tuesday.
‘The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors. Joel is expected to make a full recovery. The tour will resume at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5, 2025,’ the post, uploaded Tuesday, read.

‘While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first. I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding,’ Joel said in the statement.
The tour will resume in November, starting in Detroit where Joel is set to hit the stage with Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks.
Tickets that have already been purchased will be ‘automatically valid’ at the upcoming rescheduled concerts, according to the statement.
Joel’s official website has yet to reflect the rescheduling, with his upcoming concert dates currently appearing as normal.
Following his Detroit show, the Piano Man singer will now be heading to Toronto on March 14, 2026, Syracuse on April 10, and Salt Lake City on May 22.
He will then travel across the pond for a concert in Edinburgh on June 6 followed by Liverpool on June 20.
Joel will then perform in Charlotte on July 3 before taking the stage in Milwaukee, however a date has yet to be solidified for the Wisconsin show.
