Big Sean reveals that the death of Nipsey Hussle prompted him to ‘connect’ with Kendrick Lamar

Big Sean revealed that the death of Nipsey Hussle in 2019 prompted him to work on the relationship between himself and fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar.

The 31-year-old hit maker opened up about the alleged feud during Sunday’s episode of Joe Budden’s Pull Up series.

‘When this whole Big Sean/Kendrick beef was going on, it was something I wish I would have spoken up [on],’ admitted the rapper.

‘One of the people that, especially after Nipsey died was important for me to connect with was Kendrick [Lamar]. Me and Kendrick got a history…a relationship as peers,’ explained Sean.

‘[Kendrick] never talked about [the alleged feud]. And I never talked about it and I should’ve said something, bro. I should’ve just came out and been like, ‘Naw, that ain’t it’…but I didn’t. I was working on this song with Nip and then Nip passed.’

Hussle fell victim to a shooting that took place outside his clothing store in Los Angeles last March. The rapper was pronounced dead upon arrival to a nearby hospital.

On April 7, Big Sean performed at J. Cole’s highly anticipated musical festival, weeks after Nipsey’s death.

‘I’m sitting next to Punch from TDE [at the festival]. He like, ‘Bro, wassup—you ever holler at Kendrick?’ I damn near [had] put it on the back burner in my brain. I’m like, ‘Damn, no I never did. And he’s like, ‘Man, you should definitely holler at him.’

Sean immediately ‘got Kendrick’s number’ and the rap gods talked it out. ‘We communicated.’

An alleged beef between Sean and Kendrick was born out of assumptions made by fans following the release of Big Sean’s 2015 Me, Myself & I freestyle.

Digs taken in the track were later dissected and presumed to be about 32-year-old Lamar.

‘I remember going online and seeing like, ‘Oh, is he talking about Kendrick? Cause I’m talking about people who rap fast…I wasn’t beefing with nobody. I’m just rapping [EXPLETIVE]. It wasn’t like a specific person or else I would’ve said his name.’

Since the false feuds 2015 roots, the pair have continued to have the lyrics in their songs inspected with a fine tooth comb.

‘Every verse I do, people be like, ‘Oh is this a response? Is this a response?’ And I’m like, ‘Damn I can’t even show no aggression, people think it’s a damn response.’

The scrutiny became so much for Sean and Lamar, that a ‘tension’ began forming between the duo.

‘It got to a point where somehow it was just a weird tension between me and him even though it was already said it wasn’t no beef.

‘People made it that way,’ proclaimed Big Sean.

‘Fast forward, I let this s**t go. He let that s**t go,’ revealed Sean. ‘The respect is mutual. It was literally nothing.’

Stacey’s statement comes after Daily Mail Australia published pictures last week of the pair embracing in Adelaide Airport on February 26.

Scott is property developer, budding social media influencer, who lists himself as a ‘public figure’ on Instagram and owns an F45 franchise in South Australia.

The fitness buff boasts more than 6,000 followers and often shows off his various tattoos in shirtless pictures online.

‘This was filmed ages ago and we’re not together,’ began Stacey.

She added: ‘You’ll see at the reunion why we’re not. I was accused of cheating [on him], Michael believed it and I’m not going to be with someone who doubts me.’

Last week, Stacey said she’d rather ‘swallow acid’ than reunite with Michael.

Fans of Netflix’s hit Tiger King might be surprised to hear that Joe ‘Exotic’ Maldonado-Passage didn’t really sing or play guitar on his country songs, but the real band now wants a record deal.

The Clinton Johnson Band’s Vince Johnson told TMZ on Sunday that he and his singer Danny Clinton ‘recorded three albums worth of songs’ before Clinton’s death from heart-related issues last October.

The Vancouver duo recorded around 20 big cat-themed songs for the 57-year-old former roadside zoo owner, who then pulled a Milli Vanilli and shot music videos of himself performing the tunes.

‘We cut a really good scene about that,’ Tiger King co-director Eric Goode told the Los Angeles Times on Thursday.

‘Joe even said, “Of course not every singer sings all his songs, that’s just how it’s done.” His take on it was funny – that you could be a musician and a singer and not sing.’

Goode and co-director Rebecca Chaikli’s successful seven-part series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness continues to hold the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Top 10 list since dropping March 20.

Tiger King scored a 97% Rotten Tomatoes rating and it’s the most tweeted about TV show in the States – amassing celeb fans like Cardi B, Jared Leto, Dax Shepard, Zach Braff, Sam Smith, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kim Kardashian West, Jax Taylor, Vinny Guadagnino, Taran Killam, and Spencer Pratt.

Ruth Langsford has credited her husband Eamonn Holmes for ‘making me feel sexy’ at 60.

The This Morning presenter praised her partner of 23 years, also 60, for ‘boosting’ her self-esteem as she admitted her self-confidence ‘isn’t that high’.

Broadcaster Ruth also shared the secrets behind her youthful figure, which include lifting weights, maintaining a healthy diet and saying no to plastic surgery.

On how her ‘solid’ relationship has a positive impact on her self-perception, the host shared: ‘I definitely feel sexy at 60, but a big part of that is thanks to my husband. He tells me: “You look fantastic, I think you’re really sexy, I fancy you.” He boosts my confidence.’

Ruth confessed accepting her body is still a working progress as she told Woman & Home: ‘I do have a certain degree of confidence myself, but it’s not that high. I still think, “I’m two sizes bigger than I was in my 40s.” I’ve got my wobbly bits I don’t like.’

The TV veteran has opted for the all-natural route when it comes to maintaining her figure, revealing: ‘I don’t have Botox or fillers so I see pictures of myself and go, “Is that me? Whose neck is that?”‘

The blonde said that while she exercises and includes vegetables in her diet, she still likes to ‘enjoy life’ by treating herself to cake and an alcoholic beverage once in a while.

She added to the publication: ‘I aim for 10,000 steps a day, but it’s a constant battle. It’s not about being skinny, it’s about keeping moving.’

Ruth’s sister Julia Johnson sadly took her own life in June last year aged 62, causing the TV star to step back from hosting duties over the summer to attend to her family.

Nine months after her beloved sibling’s suicide, the media personality insisted Julia ‘wouldn’t want us to be sad forever’ as she enthused she was grateful for her ‘extraordinary’ career, which spans over three decades.

Ruth’s interview comes after she vowed to ‘keep the smile on’ after she and Eamonn defended sitting close together on Friday’s episode of This Morning.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have adhered to social distancing advice amid the coronavirus pandemic but Eamonn and Ruth insisted they can still sit alongside each other as they live together.

Ruth shared a clip of herself on Sunday morning and said she hoped her followers were all doing alright amid Britain’s ongoing lockdown.

Taking her dog for a walk, she said: ‘Morning! We’re out for our walk. Another beautiful day – look at that sky – but it’s very cold. Very cold today.

‘Anyway, hope you’re doing OK, staying safe, staying in just apart from your exercise. Speak soon.’
