Blue star Simon Webbe apologised to fans after hitting back at a rude spectator during a performance with the band at the Foodies Festival.

Footage obtained by MailOnline showed the singer, 45, appearing to lash out at a fan who had caught his attention, while the group were performing in August.

The footage showed Simon appearing to react to a fan, with an onlooker revealing that a member of the crowd had been making ‘rude gestures’ towards him.

The star was held back by his bandmate Lee Ryan, who guided him to the other side of the stage before continuing with the performance.

Simon went onto apologise to the crowd for his behaviour, and the group wrapped up their performance to a rapturous reception.

A representative for Simon declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.

It comes just weeks after Simon revealed he’d welcomed his second child with his wife Ayshen.

The couple announced on Instagram that their second daughter Riya Diamond had been born on June 27.

Poking fun at the delay in the birth announcement, the couple wrote in the caption of the post: ‘Riya Diamond Webbe.

‘I’m sorry it’s taken my parents so long to introduce me. They have been enjoying the baby bubble world, giving me lots of cuddles and kisses along with my big Sister, Cyan. This is my life so far!’

Simon and Ayshen are already parents to daughter Cyan, three.

The couple revealed Ayshen had endured five heartbreaking miscarriages and turned to IVF in order to have Cyan – but they conceived Riya naturally.

Simon also shares another daughter, Alanah, born in 1996, with his ex-partner Nicola Jones.

Blue have reunited for a Greatest Hits Tour in 2024, to celebrate two decades together, and have been touring across the UK throughout the year

In March, Simon and his wife Ayshen revealed they were expecting their second child after years of fertility struggles.

In an Instagram post sponsored by Clearblue pregnancy tests, the couple shared  video showing old footage of Ayshen in hospital during her tragic miscarriages as well as a new clip celebrating their baby news with Cyan.

They captioned the post: ‘Miracles do happen, and we’re living proof. With the help of Clearblue, we’re happy to announce that our family is expanding!’

‘After enduring heartbreaking losses and navigating the challenges of IVF, we’re overjoyed to share that we’re expecting our second child together!

‘This journey hasn’t been easy, but every struggle has led us to this moment of pure happiness – by some miracle, we were actually able to conceive naturally!’

The post continued: ‘Our little miracle, due in July 2024, is already filling our hearts with love and hope.

‘Cyan is absolutely over the moon with this news, and we couldn’t be more grateful for this blessing. Here’s to new beginnings and the incredible journey ahead as a family.’

The joyous news followed a lengthy journey to expand their family.

In an Instagram post to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week in 2023, the couple candidly revealed they had experienced a third miscarriage.

The pair welcomed their daughter Cyan in April 2021 following two devastating miscarriages and a failed round of IVF.

Blue have reunited for a Greatest Hits Tour in 2024, to celebrate two decades together, and have been touring across the UK throughout the year.

The band formed in 2000 and went on to release three studio albums titled All Rise, One Love and Guilty.

After announcing a hiatus in 2004, Duncan James, Antony Costa, Lee and Simon released their first compilation album, Best Of Blue.

The group first reunited in January 2011 and represented the UK in that year’s Eurovision Song Contest, coming in 11th place after a performance of I Can in Dusseldorf.

They went on to release two more studio albums, their fourth Roulette in 2013 and their fifth Colours in 2015.

In 2013, they joined groups including Liberty X, Atomic Kitten and 5ive to give a one-off gig as part of The Big Reunion.

When their tour was set to begin, it was pushed back after band member Lee was arrested after behaving in an ‘intimidating’ and ‘crazy’ manner during a flight from Glasgow to London City Airport.

He was handed a 12-month suspended prison sentence.

Passing sentence at Isleworth Crown Court, His Honour Judge Nicholas Wood told Ryan that he was fortunate to avoid an immediate custodial sentence – adding that the term was being suspended because of the remorse he had shown and because of the singer’s psychological condition.

The judge told Ryan: ‘You brought shame on yourself for this. I think you are aware of that.’

He added: ‘The language you used may be acceptable in the entertainment industry, but it has no place on an aircraft being directed by cabin crew.’

But explaining his reasons for not handing Ryan a custodial sentence, the judge said he was swayed by a number of psychological reports which detailed the singer’s mental condition.

These showed that he has been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; Dyslexia; ADHD and also struggles with alcohol abuse.

A psychologist also claimed that Ryan was prone to risky behaviour and also had a lack of insight about how to deal with ‘personal dynamics.’

Judge Wood said: ‘If he (Ryan) didn’t have these (disorders) he would have been better able to interpret the situation that he should not have boarded a plan drunkenly.

‘Suffering from these impairments and disorders has reduced your culpability.’

The judge said that he had also hand Ryan a suspended sentence because he believed that the incident had ‘brought him to his senses.’
