British Fashion Awards 2019: Noomi Rapace cuts a VERY quirky figure in eccentric scarlet top hat

Published

on

She was catapulted into the spotlight in 2009 when she played the edgy and troubled star of Swedish film The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

But Noomi Rapace has made a name for herself in the fashion world in recent years with her out-there-fashion looks.

The Swedish actress, 39, put on a yet another eccentric display at the British Fashion Awards on Monday night as she arrived at the Royal Albert Hall in a bold red suit and matching top hat.

The star opted for an unconventional look in a paisley swirled double breasted waistcoat nipped in at the waist with a black belt.

The sleeveless coat revealed a long flowing scarlet red shirt that cascaded down her back falling to the floor.

The trousers matched the unusual print of the waistcoat and were tucked into some knee high leather red boots.

Keeping things quirky, the star donned a red top hat over her chestnut locks which she wore loose in a sleek midi bob.

The actress’s makeup featured black cat-eye-flicks, heavy mascara and nude lips.

Noomi decorated her face with a scattering of pencilled on freckles which fell across her nose and cheeks.

Noomi recently joined Ezra Miller in the cast of The Mourner.

The project is based on the bestselling Japanese novel of the same name by Arata Tendo and will see her play a world-weary homicide detective on the trail of sex traffickers.

Yet on Monday night she joined many famous faces in celebrating British Fashion.

Tallia Storm has made a surprise appearance on The X Factor: The Band as she auditioned before judges Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger.

The reality star, 21, had previously made her name as a solo singer but admitted she was ‘delighted to have a go’ at joining a group.

Speaking to MailOnline, Tallia said: ‘I was delighted to have a go – I had never thought about being in a band as I’m a solo singer but it was a fantastic experience.’

The Celebs Go Dating star explained that as an independent artist, she takes every opportunity she can to make more people aware of her work.

She said: ‘I’m an independent artist with no label and building my brand all on my own – I take every opportunity I get to raise my awareness and drive people to my music, plus what’s not to love about hanging out with Simon Cowell for a few days – he’s a genius.

‘It was great fun. I love Working in TV since I did Celebs Go Dating and I think this show will be amazing – there is so much talent out there so tune in!’

Tallia appeared to be singing a powerful song as she tried out for the band and looked the part as she donned a black bomber jacket with a matching crop top.

The singer also donned a pair of khaki trousers and styled her blonde curls into an updo for her audition.

Also sporting several gold necklaces, Tallia completed her look with a pair of hoop earrings.

The teaser trailer for the show was recently released where Simon and Nicole were joined by a panel of industry experts including Naughty Boy as they watch the hopefuls audition solo in an intimate setting.

Tallia said: ¿I was delighted to have a go - I had never thought about being in a band as I¿m a solo singer but it was a fantastic experience'

Host Dermot O’Leary does the voiceover and explains they’re hoping to find the next One Direction or Little Mix thanks to the inaugural band version of the talent show.

Pulling up to the auditions in a car, Simon says: ‘I know what we’re looking for.’

‘This could be the beginning of something that could be truly great’, Nicole says as she gets the finishing touches applied to her hair and make-up.

‘Who are we going to remember?’, Simon muses, before telling one hopeful, ‘I’m definitely going to remember you!’

Both Little Mix and One Direction were put together on the show during the bootcamp stage, having all auditioned as solo artists.

One Direction, who placed third on the 2010 edition of the programme, are The X Factor’s most successful contestants to date, with a total of 65 million records worldwide.

The boys – Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson – went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016, less than a year after Zayn Malik left the band.

Little Mix are the only band to have ever won the show, taking home the title in 2011, and are have become one of the biggest selling girl bands ever.

The girls – Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson – have amassed estimated sales of over 50 million albums and singles.

However, the UK show’s third most successful group ever, JLS, have been snubbed from the trailer in favour of US group Fifth Harmony, who appeared on the American version of the show.

Fifth Harmony were formed by Simon in 2012, but split in May 2018, two years after lead singer Camila Cabello quit.

JLS – formed of Marvin Humes, Ortisé Williams, JB Gill and Aston Merrygold – came second to Alexandra Burke in 2008 and had five number one singles and sales of 6.5 million before their split in 2013.

Simon decided to axe the X Factor All Stars series ITV planned to launch this month, featuring ex-winners such as Leona and Alexandra Burke.

Instead he’s launching The Band to find a new girl group and boyband. It is direct competition for Little Mix’s BBC1 show The Search, which will launch in early 2020.

Simon, who no longer represents Little Mix because of a feud with their managers, told The Sun that he came up with the concept for the new show first.

He said: ‘I was approached to co-produce that show last year by Little Mix’s management.

‘I told them the problem was we have a conflict of interest because we are launching X Factor The Band in 2020. We were told their show was going to launch in 2021.

‘Then we had the fallout and find out Little Mix were bringing their show forward. Was that intentional because we are doing our show? I have no idea.’

Simon, who reinstated Louis Walsh on the X Factor panel this year, snubbed him from The Band lineup, instead keeping just Nicole to work alongside him.

The music mogul is also said to have recruited former X Factor favourite Leona Lewis to act as a guest judge.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Simon means business and wants no one wasting his time.

‘He’s looking for the band of 2020 and for a group to follow in the footsteps of One Direction and Little Mix.

Auditions have been taking place at Simon’s record label, with auditions being across Syco in front of a host of industry professionals.

‘This isn’t a TV audition, it’s the biggest record label meeting the prospective artists could ever hope for.

‘Simon and Nicole aren’t putting just anybody through. These are undoubtedly the toughest auditions in years.’

The X Factor: The Band airs this Monday, 8.30pm on ITV.

‘I think more and more now that people are seeing the film, I’m slowly getting an identity outside of that,’ she said.

Morrone added that it’s still ‘frustrating’ because she felt people should always have ‘an identity besides who you’re dating.’

‘I understand the association, but I’m confident that will continue to slip away and be less of a conversation,’ she said.

In July, Home and Away co-stars James Stewart and Sarah Roberts tied the knot at Luttrellstown Castle on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland.

And the pair are now looking forward to starting a family – although they are coy on when that will be.

Sarah, 35, says she and James, 44, are heading that way – after their honeymoon, anyway.

She tells The Daily Telegraph:  ‘I think people are just sort of interested in that aren’t they? After you get married it seems like the natural progression’.

The actress added about their baby plans: ‘I think the best thing to say is we’ll see.’

First they will enjoy their belated honeymoon ‘in Europe next year’ to celebrate their one-year anniversary.

The couple recently revealed more details from their big day in an interview with Now To Love.

‘It was really special. We got married in a castle, I think that’s a dream come true,’ Sarah told the publication.

‘And we had all of our close friends and relatives around so I don’t think I could’ve wished for anything more’.

James revealed his daughter Scout, who he shares with ex-partner Jessica Marais, loved the wedding as much as her dad and stepmother did.

‘She loved it. She met her new cousins, she got makeup on, she put on a pretty dress. Some of the photos I’ve seen of her are pretty special,’ James said.

Rather than a star-studded cast of characters in Ireland, the pair opted to have an intimate ceremony with just close friends and family.
