Even though she’s all grown up, it looks like Kai Trump and dad Don Jr still have a very special bond.
In a new video posted to her YouTube channel Tuesday, Kai shared the behind-the-scenes of what inauguration day looked like, as her grandfather, Donald Trump, was sworn in as the 47th President of The United States.
But in a rare moment of downtime before the inaugural ceremony, Kai captured a super cute moment between her and her dad.
While she and her friends were sitting at the The Refectory, a restaurant in the U.S. Capitol, before the ceremony, she asked her father if there was anything that he wanted to say to the camera.
And, it turns out that he did – even revealing his endearing name for Kai.
‘I love this little Smurf so much, and I’m so proud of her,’ Donald Jr. said, as he stood behind her chair.
‘I jumped her yesterday to ask if she wanted to speak in front of like, 25,000 people randomly live, and she absolutely crushed it like she always does, so I’m very proud of her,’ he continued.
‘And even if, at her age, dads are not cool, I don’t care, I love her so much. You’re the best little Smurf,’ the businessman concluded, as he gave her a kiss on the top of her head.

During the rest of the vlog, Kai documented their days’ festivities, as they moved from the ceremony to multiple inaugural balls in the evening.
At the Liberty Ball, she danced on stage with the rest of her family and dad in a dazzling Sherri Hill dress with corset detailing.
For the past few months, Kai, who rose to fame during the 2024 Republican National Convention, has been documenting her everyday life, including her thoughts on her grandfather’s administration.
Trump was President once before, from 2017 to 2021, but lost to Joe Biden during the 2020 election.
In another video posted this week to her YouTube channel, Kai showed herself shopping at the mall for the inauguration, spending time with her friends, golfing, and working out in the gym.
At the end of the video, she took some time to talk to her audience from her car, where she spoke about how excited she was for her grandfather to be inaugurated and why it was ‘important.’
‘I’m really happy he won, honestly, and I think for America, and I think for our family, I think it’s just so important that he won,’ the future University of Miami golfer said.
‘I think these next four years are gonna be the best four years America has ever had in a very long time,’ she continued.

That wasn’t the first time that she’s spoken about how proud she is of her grandfather and family, either.
In a November YouTube video where she showed viewers what really happened at Mar-a-Lago on election night, she included a clip of her thoughts on the results.
‘We didn’t really get to film the end because he won and we were just celebrating with family,’ she said.
‘It was just a really special moment for all of us. I’m extremely proud of him, I think he deserves it more than anyone in the whole world.
‘He really has worked his butt off every single day for the past eight years for this country.’
Kai admitted that she broke down in ‘tears’ after she found out he had won Pennsylvania – a big swing state that ultimately helped him get enough electoral votes.
‘The election night was really special for our whole family because we fought to the very end,’ she added. ‘He really deserves it after what everyone has put him through.’
