In the accompanying interview Lucy encouraged people to embrace their body flaws, saying: ‘You don’t have to be 20 to wear a bathing suit.

‘With all the flaws and all the life that a body experiences, it’s still something that you should carry with confidence.’

Speaking to the publication, Charlie’s Angels star Lucy also discussed how she had a desire to not live her life to please others.

She said: ‘People are going to see you however they’re going to see you. If I kept doing only action movies, I would probably wake up one day and not even know who I was.’

She added that Asian Americans historically haven’t voted at the same rate as white Americans, saying: ‘We don’t think our voices matter, and they do.’

Lucy also touched on being one of very few Asian American household names in Hollywood and how unaware she was about the rest of the world’s perception of her.

She said: ‘When people started to label it as ‘dragon lady’ or ‘geisha’ or whatever—I had to look up ‘dragon lady,’ she says. ‘I literally was like, ‘What is this? I don’t even know what that means!’ ‘

On listening to what is true for her in the moment she said: ‘I do what I want according to how I feel. I don’t have to fall into a social norm of ‘now you’re going to get married.’ No!

‘Not because I’m rebelling against it. When it’s right, it’s going to be right. But I’m not going to do it for the sake of doing it. Marriage is not on my bucket list. I don’t have a bucket list.’

It comes after Lucy joined the cast of Shazam! Fury Of The Gods as a villain in the DC comic book adaptation.

This big budget studio sequel already stars Zachary Levi, Adam Brody, Jack Dylan Grazer and Oscar winner Helen Mirren.

As reported by Variety, Lucy will play a character named Kalypso, the villainous sister of Helen’s supervillain character Hespera.

The film will be a sequel to 2019’s Shazam! and in the same universe as Black Adam, currently filming and starring Dwayne Johnson.

Shazam! follows the adventures of a kid who is bestowed magical powers upon the utterance of the word Shazam, which turns him into a hulking musclebound superhero played by Zachary Levi.

Like Mirren’s Hespera, Liu’s Kalypso is not exactly found in the DC comic books, and should not be confused with a difference baddie named Eclipso.
