A forgotten zombie movie — which features a star-studded cast including Adam Driver, Austin Butler and Bill Murray — is returning from the dead and coming to Netflix next month.

The Dead Don’t Die, directed by Jim Jarmusch, is one of many films and television series that have emerged following the popularization of the zombie genre.

On the heels of the acclaimed HBO series The Last of Us and the smash hit The Walking Dead, the 2019 satirical dark comedy is also coming to streaming.

The movie, which is set in the quiet and uneventful town of Centerville when zombies suddenly rise from their graves and horrify the locals, features a celebrity-packed cast.

In addition to Murray, Butler and Driver, the ensemble cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Danny Glover, Selena Gomez, Sara Driver, Steve Buscemi and Iggy Pop among many others.

The film is said to hit the streaming service, just in time for family gatherings during the holiday season, on December 16, according to Collider

Currently, the film is only available to rent through platforms such as Prime Video.

Although the movie has serious competition in the zombie comedy genre, The Dead Don’t Die features a dazzling ensemble cast for the comedy featuring auteur Jarmusch’s signature satirical style.

At the time of its release, the film received polarized reviews and a modest box office gross of $15.3 million.

The meta zombie comedy follows two Centerville police officers, Chief Cliff Robertson (Murray) and Officer Ronnie Peterson (Driver).

Together, they embark on what appears at first to be just another day on patrol in one of the most boring towns in America.

To their surprise, a random zombie outbreak pops up in the town and it’s up to the officers to get to the bottom of how it began while trying to save their town from terror.

Selena Gomez, Austin Butler and Luka Sabbat play kids on a roadtrip to an unexpected hell.

Meanwhile, Tilda Swinton plays a Scottish mortician with a fondness for drag makeup.

In addition to Murray, Butler and Driver, the ensemble cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Danny Glover, Selena Gomez, Sara Driver, Steve Buscemi and Iggy Pop among many others

While the community is fighting off the outbreak and running from terror, The Dead Don’t Die differs from other zombie movies.

The meta flick provides a philosophical take on the fear of zombies and dives into the reason why the idea of the undead apocalypse is terrifying.

All the while, the characters break the fourth wall and acknowledge they’re in a movie, providing the audience with meta-commentary on survival and consumer society.

The Dead Don’t Die is a rare departure into the fantastical for director Jim Jarmusch, but he previously scored a critical hit with the vampire film Only Lovers Left Alive, which starred Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, Anton Yelchin, Jeffrey Wright and John Hurt.
