Harry Potter’s Tom Felton, 32, insists ‘ageing is a b***h’ yet Matthew Lewis, 30, references glow-up

Published

Harry Potter fans will always remember Tom Felton as ice-haired villain Draco Malfoy and Matthew Lewis as kind-hearted yet bumbling Neville Longbottom.

And 18 years on from the very first movie hitting screens, the two actors, aged 32 and 30 respectively, were feeling nostalgic for their former looks – with Tom insisting ‘ageing is a b***h’ while Matthew boasted of his image transformation.

In a hilarious post shared on Instagram, Tom posed alongside a promo shot from the movie while donning Syltherin robes and lamented getting older however Matthew cheekily referenced his now-legendary ‘glow up’ after growing into a hunk.

The first Harry Potter book was released 23 years ago, while the movies first hit screens a whopping 18 years ago when fans were introduced to the characters.

Tom looked jokingly weary as he posed alongside a shot showing him dressed as Draco Malfoy and then posted his hilarious caption.

Matthew then commented underneath saying: ‘Speak for yourself lad!’, in reference to his hunky transformation which led to the phrase: Longbottoming – meaning an awkward teen becoming a hunky adult in later years.

Fans delighted in the comment, as fans penned: ‘Aging did you good!!… HA!!!… yessssss… neville u savage… u aged like a fine wine…

‘Actually very accurate of you to say lol… You’ve got a whole term named after you, that’s not even fair! We can’t all Longbottom!… excuse us, not everyone has the best glo up !… Neville Longbottom commented about his glow up.’

In 2016, Matthew stunned fans when he posed on the front of Attitude Magazine in his underwear and displayed his ripped physique.

In an interview about the shoot, he wrote: Naturally you think of cover models to be David Beckham or someone insanely handsome, not me…

‘But I’ve worked with the photographer, Joseph Sinclair, before, and he is incredibly talented. He suggested some more risqué shots because I was in the best shape of my life, and I trust him. Of course I was self-conscious.’

There was further Harry Potter nostalgia of late when Tom was faced with whispiers that he was in a relationship with co-star Emma Watson.

Any such idea was quashed this week, then the star – who played Hermione in the films – gave an interview to Vogue in which she professed she was ‘self-partnered’.

Millie was married to the musician, real name Stephen Manderson, for two-and-a-half years before they announced their split in February 2016.

The former couple finalised their divorce in May 2016, the same week Millie and Hugo went public with their rekindled romance.

Millie previously spoke about wanting to fall pregnant at the same as her friends, but said she wasn’t planning embarking on parenthood until she’s further into her 30s.

Speaking in an interview with Red magazine in October 2018, she said: ‘It’s [children] not on my mind at the moment, but it’s in the future. I want to enjoy being married then think about it in my 30s.

‘I want to do it the same time as my besties so we can all be mums together… I’m like, “Guys, give me a heads up”!’

Ali wore a black sun-dress and shades, tying back her blonde windswept locks in the coastal breeze.

The couple were seen digging in the sand with Isla’s bucket and spade, enjoying the time off ahead of Dec’s return to screens at the weekend.

Bare-foot, the trio wandered down to the shore and paddled in the sea, Dec holding Isla carefully as he walked her along to splash around.

Doting dad Dec took charge of Isla, laughing with her and sitting in the sand with her, letting mum Ali have a breather.

This year sees the return of Dec’s best friend Ant McPartlin on the show after Holly Willoughby filled in for him last year as he battled an addiction to painkillers, a divorce and a drink-drive incident.

The pair recently posted a snap of themselves to their Instagram account as they prepare to host the latest series of the show.

Ant and his girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett enjoyed a double date with his co-host and Ali on Monday.

The presenter, 43, and his former PA love, 42, appeared in good spirits as they shared a giggle and headed for dinner in Kingscliff, New South Wales.

Ant and his former PA, Anne-Marie, went public with their romance last year, shortly after his split from ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.

The presenter previously credited girlfriend Anne-Marie for ‘saving his life’, after battling addiction.

Dec admitted that he thought he had ‘lost’ his best friend of 31 years for good when Ant was arrested for the drink-driving conviction last year.

Speaking in their ITV documentary Ant & Dec’s DNA Journey, Dec said: ‘It has been a tough couple of years and it has tested the bond we have shared since we were 13.’

He added: ‘I was incredibly angry at the start, so angry. Disappointed that he didn’t ever come to me and say “I am struggling, I need you,” because that is what I would do if the shoe was on the other foot. And he never came to me and that hurt me a lot.’

The ITV documentary was halted for two years while Ant took a break from the spotlight to battle his addiction. He admitted himself to rehab for further treatment.

During this time, Dec admitted he was ‘filled with fear’ at the thought of no longer having Ant by his side.

Olivia Colman on playing Queen Anne and Queen Elizabeth in The Crown

Olivia Colman has revealed she had to put on a lot of weight to play Queen Anne in The Favourite, a role which earned her an Oscar.

But the star, 45, admits she wouldn’t do that again for a role as she found it so difficult to lose the weight.

In an interview with OK!, Olivia said she had to drop ‘a lot of weight’ to play Queen Elizabeth II for the third season of The Crown, which will air on November 17.

She said of playing the Queen for the Netflix show: ‘Well I’m not supposed to smile as much as I do, that was fun. I had to put on a lot of weight for Queen Anne in The Favourite but I had to lose a lot of weight for this.

‘Well, I didn’t have to because everyone was very polite and nice,  but I said, “I need to lose weight”. They were very sweet and supportive about it.

‘It would have felt a bit wrong to play Queen Elizabeth II as the same size as Queen Anne. I probably wouldn’t say yes to putting on weight again for a job because it’as been very difficult to lose.’

Not her thing: Olivia recently addressed co-star Helena Bonham Carter’s decision to consult a medium ahead of her role as Princess Margaret in season three and four of The Crown.

Olivia played the gluttonous Queen Anne during her reign from 1665–1714 alongside female love rivals Abigail Masham (Emma Stone) and Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough (Rachel Weisz).

The in-demand star succeeded Claire Foy, 35, as Queen Elizabeth II in the royal biopic.

The third and fourth series will cover the years 1964-77, with series one and two having covered the earlier years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Olivia also addressed co-star Helena Bonham Carter’s decision to consult a medium ahead of her role as Princess Margaret in season three and four of The Crown.

Helena as Margaret: She said: 'So I asked her: "Are you OK with me playing you?" and she said: "You¿re better than the other actress" ¿ that they were thinking of'

Helena as Margaret: She said: ‘So I asked her: “Are you OK with me playing you?” and she said: “You’re better than the other actress” … that they were thinking of’

Helena previously said at Cheltenham literature festival: ‘She said, apparently, she was glad it was me. My main thing when you play someone who is real, you kind of want their blessing because you have a responsibility.

‘So I asked her: “Are you OK with me playing you?” and she said: “You’re better than the other actress” … that they were thinking of. They will not admit who it was. It was me and somebody else.

‘That made me think maybe she is here, because that is a classic Margaret thing to say. She was really good at complimenting you and putting you down at the same time.’

But Olivia said she and Helena, 53, have ‘very different approaches and ‘each to their own’ and also said she wouldn’t consult a medium as the Queen is still alive.

Both Helena and OIivia appeared together on Graham Norton on Friday, where they took their on-screen sibling rivalry into real life.

Graham, 56, brought up claims that Olivia has never been the best at researching her roles.

Helena said: ‘Understatement of the year,’ before looking shocked at herself and giving her pal a hug.
