Harry Potter’s Tom Felton and Matthew Lewis talk about ageing

Published

on

Harry Potter fans will always remember Tom Felton as ice-haired villain Draco Malfoy and Matthew Lewis as kind-hearted yet bumbling Neville Longbottom.

And 18 years on from the very first movie hitting screens, the two actors, aged 32 and 30 respectively, were feeling nostalgic for their former looks – with Tom insisting ‘ageing is a b***h’ while Matthew boasted of his image transformation.

In a hilarious post shared on Instagram, Tom posed alongside a promo shot from the movie while donning Syltherin robes and lamented getting older however Matthew cheekily referenced his now-legendary ‘glow up’ after growing into a hunk.

The first Harry Potter book was released 23 years ago, while the movies first hit screens a whopping 18 years ago when fans were introduced to the characters.

Tom looked jokingly weary as he posed alongside a shot showing him dressed as Draco Malfoy and then posted his hilarious caption.

Matthew then commented underneath saying: ‘Speak for yourself lad!’, in reference to his hunky transformation which led to the phrase: Longbottoming – meaning an awkward teen becoming a hunky adult in later years.

Fans delighted in the comment, as fans penned: ‘Aging did you good!!… HA!!!… yessssss… neville u savage… u aged like a fine wine…

‘Actually very accurate of you to say lol… You’ve got a whole term named after you, that’s not even fair! We can’t all Longbottom!… excuse us, not everyone has the best glo up !… Neville Longbottom commented about his glow up.’

In 2016, Matthew stunned fans when he posed on the front of Attitude Magazine in his underwear and displayed his ripped physique.

In an interview about the shoot, he wrote: Naturally you think of cover models to be David Beckham or someone insanely handsome, not me…

‘But I’ve worked with the photographer, Joseph Sinclair, before, and he is incredibly talented. He suggested some more risqué shots because I was in the best shape of my life, and I trust him. Of course I was self-conscious.’

There was further Harry Potter nostalgia of late when Tom was faced with whispiers that he was in a relationship with co-star Emma Watson.

Any such idea was quashed this week, then the star – who played Hermione in the films – gave an interview to Vogue in which she professed she was ‘self-partnered’.

Other items included a red carpet for the guests’ entrance, elaborate white chairs and heavy lanterns, all of which added a touch of Hollywood glamour to the otherwise D-list nuptials.

An Instagram-themed selfie frame, a photo booth and glowing neon signs – including once which read, ‘Drunk in love’ – were also hired for the occasion.

Partygoers arrived at the reception in style in a vintage London double decker bus, which had been adorned with a white ribbon and a bouquet of flowers.

Guests included MAFS alumni Cyrell Paul, Heidi Latcham and Nic Jovanovic, as well as a heavily-pregnant Sylvia Jeffreys, who will host coverage of the wedding.

The wedding and reception were filmed by Channel Nine and will be broadcast on A Current Affair on Tuesday night from 7pm.

While the day ran smoothly across the venue’s two luxurious floors, Daily Mail Australia can reveal the planning process was anything but simple.

A source connected to the establishment on Castlereagh Street has revealed the couple initially wanted the fire brigade to ‘block the road’ for their arrival.

However, as would be expected, the ambitious plan was not possible.

The insider also claimed that staff had been ‘instructed not to talk to either Jules or Cam’ on their big day, and ‘only managers’ were allowed to address them directly.

During the wedding planning process, staff are understood to have joked about the MAFS couple being ‘too big for their britches’.

‘They aren’t royalty, but they were trying to get everything for nothing,’ said a source.

It’s believed the pair got a ‘massive discount’ from the venue in exchange for receiving free publicity during their A Current Affair special.

Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, the One Direction singer, 27, opened up about grieving for his mother Johannah Deakin and sister Félicité and how he channelled his feelings of loss into his music.

Johannah lost her battle with leukaemia in December 2016, aged 43, leaving behind Louis, Félicité and their five siblings.

In March this year, the family was hit by further devastation when Félicité, 18, accidentally died from an overdose of cocaine, an anxiety drug and painkillers.

Discussing the ways in which his grief influenced his songwriting process, Louis said: ‘I had a couple of things in my personal life which made momentum a little bit more difficult, naturally.

‘I touched on [grief] with ‘Two of Us,’ but I definitely kind of told that story with that, I felt like I needed to get that off my chest creatively in my songwriting because around that time, it was hard for anything to feel more important, obviously, than that.’

The Just Hold On hitmaker continued: ‘I feel like I’m in a good place in my life, and naturally with that comes happier songs. So I think it all depends on what headspace you’re in, really, at the time.’

I’m A Celebrity: Dan Osborne shows his support to nervous wife Jacqueline Jossa

His wife Jacqueline Jossa made her debut in I’m A Celebrity on Sunday evening, in which she faced her fears in the terrifying walk the plank challenge.

And ahead of her jungle stint, Dan Osborne showed, 28, huge support to the EastEnders star as he and their children dressed in jungle gear.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the former TOWIE star shared a snap of himself and their daughters Mia, 15 months, Ella, four, and five-year-old son Teddy from a past relationship.

In the snap, Dan was seen sitting on the sofa with his brood, with all four rocking lounge suits in the I’m A Celebrity colours.

Further highlighting their support for the soap star, their tops were emblazoned with the words: ‘Team Jac.’

Another adorable image sees the group larking around and giving a thumbs up ahead of Jacqueline’s jungle debut.

Dan then later took to Instagram stories to reveal he was sitting down to watch the ITV show, with the children no doubt tucked up in bed.

The star showed his fans an image of his cup of tea and biscuits as she prepared to watch his wife face her fears in Australia.

And face her fears she did as Jacqueline, 27, was left terrified in the first challenge in which she was forced to walk a plank.

The brunette beauty broke down in tears as she and challenge partner Ian Wright were suspended atop a high-rise building, in which they had to walk off the edge to retrieve flags at the end of long planks.

Admitting that she was really ‘worried’ to take on the challenge, the star started to become emotional at the thought of walking 334 feet high up.

However, Jacqueline needn’t have worried as she soon got into her stride and took on the challenge.

Supported by her fellow campers, Jacqueline shuffled along the platform and eventually completed the the game alongside Ian.

Speaking afterwards, she said: ‘I wouldn’t want to do it again but it was fun.’

While Ian added: ‘That wind man, the most frightening thing I’ve ever done in my life.’

Jacqueline recently claimed she is a ‘strong woman’ and ‘not a doormat’ for taking her husband Dan back after cheating rumours.

The former EastEnders star is hoping to put their turbulent past behind her and prove she is ‘really strong’ and ‘not stupid’ during her time in the Australian jungle, before reuniting with her husband next month.

She has split with her TV personality beau multiple times during their five-year relationship – most recently last year when she was eight months pregnant with their second child.

‘I just kind of feel I’m often the one that looks like I’m a victim a lot of the time. And I just kind of want to show that I’m actually really strong,’ she said.

‘And I know exactly what’s going on. I’m not stupid. I think it’s always just, Oh, poor Jacqueline again, that kind of thing.’

It comes after Dan was accused of cheating on her with Love Island’s Gabby Allen while on holiday in Marbella in April 2018.

Jacqueline contacted Gabby at the time to ask if the rumours were true, according to The Sun.
