‘I have fairly normal skin that gets a bit shiny in the T zone at the end of a long day, and this foundation is the only one where I don’t have to blot or powder. It stays perfectly in place, doesn’t transfer and doesn’t oxidise,’ one woman said.

‘I purchased this foundation after reading amazing reviews for its staying powder on oily skin and I was not disappointed,’ said another.

‘I found this makeup did stay in place throughout the day and did not slide around on my oily face like a lot of foundations do.’

Furious music fans demand refunds after RNB Fridays Live

Music fans who paid $200 for a festival headlined by Janet Jackson said it’s the worst money they’ve ever spent, as the star is accused of lip syncing to her biggest hits amid a pile of complaints about obstructed views and sound problems.

The issues started at the RNB Fridays Live event at HBF Park in Perth on Friday.

Fans paid up to $200 for tickets to the show but quickly became enraged when they couldn’t see the stage properly, people started smoking in the audience, sound problems were rife and Jackson was lip-syncing.

Pamela Lewis, 34, couldn’t wait to see the singer and actress perform live but told Daily Mail Australia the show was marred with disappointment.

‘It was the worst performance of the night and probably the worst I’ve seen,’ Ms Lewis said.

‘Once [Jackson] was on stage she started lip syncing and it was so obvious she was dancing around trying to move the mic over her lips so we couldn’t see and she kept putting her hair over her face.’

‘Everyone started leaving and everyone was saying how disappointing it was.’

Some suggested Jackson’s microphone might have been off making it look like she was lip syncing.

Ms Lewis disagreed and said the star’s timing was all wrong.

‘She was out of time for sure. We left when she tried to sing Together Again.’

Cherie Mathews said Jackson’s mouth didn’t match the screen and hundreds of people left during the Melbourne show on Saturday.

‘I looked at my sister and said “what the f***?”,’ she said.

‘People on level two and three were chanting for the Black Eyes Peas to come back on while Janet Jackson was playing.’

Other furious fans commented on the Facebook event page with the same complaint.

‘Janet Jackson’s performance was shameful… Sorry to say but she should be axed,’ said a Perth audience member.

‘Wow the music levels are absolutely shocking!’

‘It was so bad. Worst $200 ever spent,’ agreed someone else.

The problems persisted at the Melbourne show.

‘Wow the sound at the Melbourne concert was absolutely dreadful,’ said one user.

‘Janet Jackson wow nice lip syncing and nice job clearing the stadium early.’

Some furious fans said they paid for ‘platinum’ seating but were stuck with half a view from the side of the stage.

‘I had platinum seats in Perth…so upset the side of the stage was blocked and you could only see bits from the front.’

Others said the same thing happened at the Melbourne show.

‘The promoters should be ashamed for charging $200 for obscured seating miles away from the stage,’ one user wrote on the event Facebook page, sharing a photo of the view from their ‘platinum’ seats.

‘My wife was so excited about her premium seats only to get there and find that they were anything but premium. Very poor.’

Someone else also said they paid $200 for platinum seats but had a view of the side of the stage which was obscured by a cover.

The complaints didn’t stop at sound and seating.

One person accused the Perth venue of running out of drinks.

‘Running out of stock very early and only having beer or bourbon left by 7pm or so,’ they wrote.

‘When the main act clears the stadium…what a disappointment.’

Another fan said she had an amazing time but the experience was tainted by people smoking in the audience.

‘Having an awesome time but please make it a smoke-free event next. Dancing your a*** off while drunk a*******s are lighting up next to you and blowing disgusting carcinogens over everyone is a complete buzzkill.’

While many fans said Jackson’s dancing was impressive as she pulled out her late-brother Michael’s famous crotch-grabbing move, it wasn’t enough to stop hundreds of angry fans from leaving the venue, reported WA Today

One person called it the biggest disappointment of 2019 on social media.

‘Glaring lip syncing by JJ and an abrupt ending with a confetti-covered crowd blanketed in darkness,’ another concertgoer wrote.

Another person user accused the star of arriving 40 minutes late and joked that timing was not her strong point.

‘Please work on your lip syncing and timing a lot better… Definitely gave me a laugh! Come on 40 minutes late and you bring out a lip syncing performance,’ they Tweeted.

Ms Jackson ended the performance with a cascade of confetti.

Other performers included the Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, J-Kwon, Keri Hilson, Sisqo, Brandy and Jason Derulo.

The RNB Fridays Live event will travel to Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane.

Jackson’s performance was not the only issue concertgoers had with the event, with one woman claiming she was told the seats she paid for were being demolished.

‘Can someone from RNB Fridays Live please PM me,’ she wrote.

‘Just received a call from Ticketmaster to say our seats are being replaced with a staircase… Where does that leave us? Do we now miss out because you failed to get the floor plan right?’

Sydney Showground told Daily Mail Australia seats are always removed to create a wider isle and said it was a ticketing issue.

Daily Mail Australia contacted Ticketmaster for comment.

RNB Fridays Live has come under fire in the past.

Last year’s festival at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne was labelled ‘the worst concert ever’.

Fans claimed the event was ruined by poor sound quality and there were long queues for food and drinks.

Sabrina DiGiambattista said she feared for her safety at the event last year

Sabrina DiGiambattista previously said the tickets were oversold and she had to leave early because of safety concerns.

She said it was ‘more like a mosh pit than a standing area’.

‘It was so packed you couldn’t move without bumping into someone, very tightly packed in, it became claustrophobic, there were drinks in open plastic cups not cans like at other events.’

‘Due to this people were spilling drinks everywhere due to being bumped into, the floor was sticky and wet, if there had been an emergency or evacuation I firmly believe a fatal crush or stampede could have occurred.’

A Facebook group called ‘RnB live Melbourne robbed us…refund our money’ was set up.

Event organisers Mushroom Group told Daily Mail Australia they were not aware of any sound issues and refused to comment further.

The six foods to boost your metabolism – and help you lose weight

Published

By

A leading nutritionist has revealed how snacking on six specific foods every day can help you lose weight, just in time for summer.

In an appearance on the Today Show, acclaimed food scientist Dr Vincent Candrawinata said incorporating protein-rich meat like lamb chops into your daily diet will help keep kilos off by leaving you fuller for longer.

Everyday spices like chilli and ginger and unsweetened caffeinated drinks, including black tea and coffee, increase the body’s ability to burn fat while fibre-rich ingredients like seaweed lowers blood sugar and promotes weight loss.

Dr Vincent, who has a doctorate in molecular nutrition, also advised cutting refined sugars, processed meat and alcohol from your diet to reduce belly fat.

1. CHILLI AND GINGER

Adding spice to your daily meals could be the ticket to the perfect summer body, according to Dr Vincent, who recommends seasoning dishes with chilli or ginger.

Chilli contains an active component called capsaicin, which increases your metabolic rate, helps to reduce blood pressure and stimulates digestion by enhancing feelings of fullness and reducing cravings.

Ginger also improves digestion, reduces inflammation and stabilises blood sugar levels, encouraging weight loss.

2. SEAWEED

Low in carbohydrates and calories, seaweed could help you on the way to a slender figure.

There is a natural fibre in sea kelp called alginate, which inhibits the enzymes that digest fat, so less is absorbed by the body.

In 2015, British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver attributed his notable weight loss to eating daily doses of seaweed.

Japan and China consume more than 170,000 tons of seaweed per year.

3. LEGUMES AND PULSES

Legumes like lentils, chickpeas and beans are rich in B vitamins, fibre and protein – all of which promote metabolism to speed up weight loss.

Studies suggest that the high protein content of beans requires the body to burn a greater number of calories to digest them, compared to lower-protein foods.

Legumes are also rich in arginine, an amino acid that increases the amount of carbs and fat the body burns for energy.

4. APPLES

Apples contain a large amount of pectin, a component which binds with water inside the body to limit the amount of fat cells can absorb.

Apples are also a rich source of fibre, which boosts metabolism and regulates blood sugar levels.

One large apple contains five grams of fibre and 14 percent of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C.

5. LAMB CHOPS

While a balanced diet should include a mixed source of nutrients, replacing carbs and fat with protein helps to keep you fuller for longer by suppressing hormones that cause hunger.

Dr Vincent said lamb has a good ratio of protein to fat, and increases the body’s metabolic rate by 30 percent more than carbohydrates do.

6. COFFEE

Caffeinated coffee is rich in antioxidants and boosts weight loss by decreasing appetite and increasing metabolism.

Dr Vincent recommends two cups of unsweetened coffee each day, one with breakfast and lunch.
