Another major three-team deal in the NBA has happened less than 24-hours after the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade involving the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers.
The Sacramento Kings are moving star point guard De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs in a deal that also involves the Chicago Bulls.
Zach Lavine, a star on the Bulls, will be moving to the Kings as a result of this deal.
The full trade will see Fox and Jordan McLaughlin go from the Kings to the Spurs.
As for the Bulls, they’ll receive Spurs forward Zach Collins and guard Tre Jones, Kings guard Kevin Huerter, and their own 2025 first-round pick they sent to San Antonio to facilitate the DeMar DeRozan trade.
Meanwhile, the Kings received a haul: LaVine, guard/forward Sidy Cissoko, three first round picks (2025 first from Charlotte, 2027 first from San Antonio, 2031 first from Minnesota) and three second round picks (2025 second from Chicago, 2028 second from Denver, and the Kings’ own second in 2028 back to them).

As a third team in this deal, the Chicago Bulls are sending Zach LaVine to the Kings
After weeks of speculation about Fox’s future in Sacramento, he made it clear that he wanted to move on and that San Antonio was his preferred destination.
Now, he’s off to work with Victor Wembanyama and the rest of the Spurs’ youthful cast of rising stars like Stephon Castle, Jeremy Sochan, and Devin Vassell.
Fox had only one final year on his contract after this season and did not appear willing to commit to the team long-term – especially considering the team is currently clinging onto the last playoff spot with the Golden State Warriors and Spurs right on their tails.
Fox had been drafted by the Kings fifth overall out of Kentucky in 2017 and had played with the team for his entire career.
He’s currently averaging over 25 points per game with five rebounds and 6.2 assists.
As for LaVine, his contract had been considered one of the most bloated in the league – but he had been having a resurgent season with the Bulls.
LaVine, who was the most tenured member on Chicago, is averaging 24 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists.
He’s owed $46million next year and has a $49million player option for the 2026-27 season.
Much like the Kings, the Bulls are clinging to the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference – just a single game ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers.
