Australian actor Nick Giannopoulos has warned other comedians to stop using the phrase ‘wog’.

Speaking to The Herald Sun on Saturday, the Wogs Out Of Work star, 56, said that he would take legal action against comedians using the word to promote their shows.

‘My trademarks are wogs or wogboys… My lawyers have been hired by me to protect my trademark,’ he told the publication.

Nick explained that his lawyers have contacted other comedians in Melbourne using the word ‘wog’ to promote their shows.

He added: ‘The government ruled in my favour in the mid-90s saying the word “wogs” is associated with my previous shows.’

‘They granted me that trademark so that I could protect my business interests.’ Nick continued.

The Wog Boy star revealed why he trademarked the phrase in an interview with Kyle and Jackie O in 2017.

‘I wanted to take that word, that word that had been used against me my whole childhood, and claim ownership of it,’ he said.

‘The word I hated the most in the world, I now own,’ he told the KIIS FM hosts of how he trademarked the term 25 years ago.

Nick rose to fame after playing Greek cafe owner Jim Stefandedes on the 1990s sitcom Acropolis Now.

He has also starred in the film The Wog Boy in 2000 and sequel Wog Boys 2: Kings of Mykonos in 2010.

He’s had many successful stage shows including Wog Boys, Wog-A-Rama, Wog Story and Star Wogs.

Celebrity Ex On The Beach – which debuted on MTV on Tuesday – sees the return of the hit show after bosses axed the entire tenth series in the wake of Mike Thalassitis’ tragic death last year.

In the relationship department, Montana’s split from Elliott was revealed earlier this month.

The couple dated for two years and went Instagram official back in February 2018, just eight weeks into their relationship.

Male model Elliott supported his former partner through her best friend Mike’s death in March 2019.

Former sportsman Mike was found dead at the age just 26. She later confided in The Sun that she was having counselling after being targeted by online trolls while grieving her friend.

Montana previously said: ‘It’s been really difficult to be honest. It’s hard when you’re in the spotlight, because people see you happy on Instagram and they’re like ‘why are you happy, are you not sad about Mike anymore?’

‘It’s been something that’s been really difficult; I’ve been getting quite a lot of hate about it which has been really, really upsetting. I’m looking to get some counselling, I’m on the mend.’

Over the weekend, the blonde beauty paid her respects to late Mike, on what would have been his 27th birthday.

Montana – who appeared on the show with the ex-footballer in 2017 – posted two photos to Instagram of her with him, captioning them: ‘Happy birthday angel face, miss you so much and I hope you’re having a party party up there wherever you are.

‘I wish we all had more time with you. We lost you too early.’

She added: ‘If you’re looking at this feeling suicidal and unhappy, please speak to someone, if you don’t want to speak to someone you know, you can also text @giveusashoutinsta. You are all amazing, you all are worthy of the help and I know you’re so loved.’

And Andi Peters made a triumphant return to Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, with Piers Morgan celebrating his comeback by taking a swipe at stand-in host Jack Fincham’s presenting skills.

‘Susanna (Reid) sent me some texts, thanks Susanna for wishing me well. Ranvir (Singh) sent me some fruit. Thank you so much

‘Alex (Beresford) didn’t send me anything, not even a text. So forget it!’ as a visibly awkward Alex watched on.

‘Piers (Morgan) also got in touch, but what did he say? He said he almost misses me so that’s good enough for me! ‘

Discussing his time on sick leave he said: ‘I would say I’m back to 90 per cent, that’s good enough to be here.

‘Thank you to everyone who has sent me a text. It’s amazing when you have shingles that you can share the story with others.

‘You just have to listen to your body, it’s horrible. I had 12 days off! It’s so bizarre. I’ve watched so much of The West Wing! It feels like I’m at home again.’

Piers, 54, then took a savage swipe at Love Island winner Jack, 28, and his presenting skills.

Susanna, 49, then clarified he was referring to Jack with Piers adding: ‘We got down to asking him what day it was and even then he struggled.’

A triumphant Andi retorted: ‘Let’s take it back, Piers missed me. You heard it here first.’

Presenter Susanna revealed last Wednesday that Andi wouldn’t be available for work due to the nerve infection.

The host told ITV viewers: ‘Sorry, I’ve just got some breaking news from Andi Peters’ sick bed. He’s got shingles. First day off in 20 years.’

When her co-host Piers  quizzed Susanna on how to contract shingles, she responded by saying:’It’s chicken pox for adults.’

Good Morning Britain newsreader Ranvir chimed in to inform Piers that the viral disease is ‘really bad’.

Wishing Andi well, Piers said: ‘I feel sorry for Andi, it’s not the same without you mate. Sorry about your shingles. Hope you get well soon.’

AJ Pritchard EXCLUSIVE: Dancer vows to get brother Curtis back into THOSE purple hot pants

Published

AJ Pritchard will tour with his second solo show in 2020, AJ Live – and he’s bringing Love Island star brother Curtis along for the ride.

The Strictly pro, 25, told MailOnline in an exclusive chat that he’ll be giving Curtis’ fans what they want by getting him to recreate the lap dance he performed while he was on the 2019 season of the ITV2 dating show for his now-girlfriend Maura Higgins.

‘Curtis will be involved. He’ll be sweating his ass off. I’m making him dance just as much as me,’ AJ said. ‘People always fall in love with his personality and the audience will see our cheeky side, once we have the mics in our hands.

‘And I want him to recreate the moment from Love Island, when he did that dance for Maura. We’ll stick him in those hot pants.’

AJ admitted that including Curtis – also a pro dancer – in his 2020 show will bring together ‘two audiences’ in the form of Love Island and Strictly fans, and a ‘new dynamic’ to things.

‘I would have loved to book Maura but she’s flying around the ice currently!’ AJ said of his brother’s girlfriend, who is starring on Dancing On Ice at the moment.

Curtis was the unknown brother of AJ up until last year, and over the past eight months came close to winning Love Island and now has a role on BBC’s The Greatest Dancer.

‘I’m so happy for him, so proud of him. When I watch him on TV and see the opportunities he’s getting, it’s a surreal moment,’ AJ said. ‘I went to see The Greatest Dancer when it was filmed in Birmingham. And they announced the show’s judges’ names and then Curtis’ name. The crowd went wild. It was a louder cheery than even Cheryl’s!’

AJ gets on with Maura too, although admits the two of them ‘have not stopped’ since leaving Love Island.

AJ is still going strong with his own girlfriend Abbie Quinnen – also a dancer – who was part of his 2019 solo tour.

On the road: 'Curtis will be involved. He'll be sweating his ass off. I'm making him dance just as much as me,' AJ said. 'People always fall in love with his personality and the audience will see our cheeky side, once we have the mics in our hands'

‘It’s crazy as it’s our one year anniversary coming up. We get on so well because we both work just as hard as each other. She’s actually annoying because she can literally do everything,’ AJ said.

‘Even when I was on Strictly last, she helped with the routines I had to choreograph for me and Saffron [Barker].’

Abbie will also take part in AJ Live, with AJ revealing: ‘Our dance that we do together will be a contemporary one.’

AJ is producing the show himself this time, giving him more control than he had in 2019.

Family affair: 'No-one has seen Curtis do his dancing to the masses so this is a very family-oriented show. It'll be like the dance shows we'd put on in our house when we were 14. It's like that but 2.0,' AJ said [Curtis is pictured with their mother Debbie]

AJ is enjoying the freedom, explaining: ‘Sometimes I haven’t been able to do stuff I want on Strictly, so this is like taking the best parts of what I do there and adding more to it.’

AJ even believes he’s ‘overdone’ it – but that bigger is better.

‘I’ve overdone it – but that’s so we can create the best show. I feel like I am taking a million business calls at the same time – this is why I can’t do the Strictly pro tour later in the year, because I won’t have the time to rest and recover.

‘I have to put all my time into this show. Otherwise it would affect me mentally. I’d implode or explode!’
