Grand National Friday 1

MORNING, RACING FANS

Sir Alex Ferguson can celebrate another win in Liverpool this Saturday – thanks to his Grand National runner.

The Manchester United legend’s horse Give Me A Copper will run in the world’s most famous race – after the ex-Man Utd boss already landed a 108-1 treble at the Liverpool course.

The horse, who Fergie co-owns with four others, has been targeted at the big one since 2019.

Give Me A Copper is currently a 50-1 shot for the 40-runner contest.

In other news, Team Tiger Roll were called in by the Aintree stewards to explain the run of their star in the Betway Bowl.

The two-time Grand National champ was beaten 92 lengths into fourth by runaway winner Clan Des Obeaux.

But the stewards believed the horse was ‘tenderly handled’ throughout by jockey Jack Kennedy.

An enquiry was held after the race which trainer Denise Foster – who is holding the licence while Gordon Elliott is banned – telephoned into.

Meanwhile, Jockey Lorna Brooke was rushed to hospital via air ambulance after a horror ‘faceplant’ fall at Taunton.

Brooke came crashing down in the 4.55 race while on 16-1 shot Orchestrated.

Held up behind the leaders, Brooke lost control at the third fence and hit the turf face-first.

And finally, what better way to get in the spirit of the Grand National than with a sweepstake with your mates?

Well, lucky for you, SunSport has done the hard work and got the ideal kit for the big race.

All you’ve got to do is save and download the sweepstake kit HERE, and print it off or share it via WhatsApp, text or social media.
