Nuno Espirito Santo will hold talks with the League Managers Association to express his concerns about top-flight clubs’ pre-season preparations.

Sportsmail understands the Wolves boss wants more collaboration among clubs to ensure next season runs as smoothly as possible.

With overseas tours effectively off the agenda due to Covid restrictions, teams will either travel within the UK and Ireland or work exclusively at their training grounds.

Nuno argues that clubs should work together to guarantee high-level opponents in friendlies and minimise travel.

‘As managers, maybe we can find an understanding that we can be close to each other in terms of preparation games,’ said Nuno. ‘A meeting inside the LMA will be enough to consider the options.

‘We should make decisions together. If we have four Premier League clubs close to each other, we can prepare together as we will all be in the UK.’

Asked whether he would be happy to play Wolves’ Midlands rivals if those teams stayed at their training grounds this summer, Nuno added: ‘Normally we don’t do it like this, but nothing is normal any more.

‘We are always competitive as managers, we try to keep secrets, but maybe this is the moment we require a different approach.

‘I’m positive many managers are thinking that.’
