The 67th Grammy Awards live: Chappell Roan suffers awkward wardrobe malfunction after winning

The artist’s two sons Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10, shared a sweet moment with their mom after she won the award for Best Latin Pop Album.

The artist fiercely slammed the Academy and branded the event as ‘corrupt’ in a fierce X rant back in 2020.

Before he hit the stage, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. addressed previous backlash.

He said, ‘Now, charting a new course is never easy. There’s still work to be done, but I firmly believe we’re on the right path, as we’ve seen tonight.

‘Music is a powerful force for good. It heals us, it unites us, and we need that in this city right now.’

The pair delivered a moving tribute to those affected by the devastation.

The artist took to the stage to accept the award in a huge hat but it fell off in the middle of her speech.

Presenter Victoria Monet and an employee ran to help her and picked it up off the floor.

‘My hat’s going to fall off, it’s going to be OK,’ Chappell said with a laugh right before it tumbled to the ground.

During her speech, she called on record labels to ‘treat their artists as valuable employees with a livable wage and health insurance and protection.’

‘I told myself if I ever won a Grammy and I got to stand up here in front of the most powerful people in music, I would demand that labels and the industry profiting millions of dollars off of artists would offer a livable wage and health care, especially to developing artists,’ she said.

It seems there’s barely been any awards given out tonight. Instead, the show has consisted mostly of performances.

The blonde beauty hit the stage in a black sparkly suit dress, but halfway through, she pulled it off to reveal a dazzling blue bodysuit underneath.

She sang against a backdrop that showed various scenes of Los Angeles scenery.

Trevor made an eyebrow-raising dig at Donald Trump’s mass deportation of undocumented immigrants.

‘We’re going to be honoring the best in music as voted on by the 13,000 members of the Recording Academy… and 20 million illegal immigrants,’ he said.

Later on in the speech, the South Afircan-born comedian joked that it ‘may be the last time he hosts anything in this country.’

They were joined on stage by a star-studded crew including John Legend, Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard, and St. Vincent.

Before taking to the stage host Trevor Noah revealed that they had lost their homes in the devastating fires.

The show will raise funds to support fire relief efforts after the devastation caused by the LA blazes which began on January 7 in Pacific Palisades.

While opening the show, Trevor said they would be ‘celebrating the city that brought us our favorite music.’
