It was part of an effort to undercut Cohen's own testimony that he was speaking to Trump about the Stormy Daniels matter during a critical period, rather than other matters that might have risen to the top of his to-do list.

Blanche asked the witness during a long cross-examination where he poked holes in his story. 'You recall on October 25th, you recall her communicating with you concerns about somebody trying to blackmail her?' Blanche asked. 'Yes sir,' Cohen responded.
